SGTB Khalsa Admission 2025 FAQs

Ques. What are the important dates to remember for admissions at SGTB Khalsa?

Ans. Important dates for admission to SGTB Khalsa are aligned with the University of Delhi’s admission schedule. Key dates generally include:

  • Opening of the CUET-UG application portal
  • CUET examination dates
  • Release of CUET results
  • CSAS registration and choice filling window
  • Release of cut-off or allocation lists
  • Deadlines for document submission and fee payment

While specific dates vary from year to year, SGTB Khalsa advises applicants to regularly check the official DU admission portal and the college website for updated timelines.

Ques. What is the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) concerning SGTB Khalsa?

Ans. The Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) is the centralised counselling and seat allocation mechanism introduced by the University of Delhi for UG admissions. Under this system, candidates appear for the CUET-UG exam and then fill in their preferences for colleges and courses online. SGTB Khalsa participates in this process, and seat allotments are made based on CUET scores, category, and preference order. Once a seat is allotted, students must accept the offer, upload documents, and pay the fee to secure admission to SGTB Khalsa.

Ques. What is the next step for students who receive a seat allotment in SGTB Khalsa?

Ans. After getting a seat allotment from SGTB Khalsa via the CSAS system, students should log in and accept the seat and upload the required documents before the given time. Once the verification of documents is done online by the college, a seat allotment will be generated, and the student will pay through an online portal. If the above steps are not completed promptly, then the allotment will no longer be valid.

Ques. Does SGTB Khalsa conduct any other entrance tests?

Ans. No, SGTB Khalsa does not conduct its entrance test for UG and PG programmes for admission. They will only take admissions through a centralised system like CUET-UG, CUET-PG, etc., being conducted by the University of Delhi and the NTA. Students have to be qualified and apply to the centralised admission system of the University of Delhi as part of the admission process. Also, the college does not conduct any examinations except for the case of interviews or practical examinations, if the students are admitted under the music or sports quota.

I had applied for other colleges like SRCC, Hansraj, Hindu, Sri Venkateshwara, etc. This college was my last resort to stay in the famous north campus of the Delhi University (as I couldn't match the cutoff for other colleges). The admission takes place on the basis of marks scored in CUET.

Admission:

I chose this college over other options primary because of CUET score and the admission process I appeared for the CUET exam and secured an average score which limited my chances of getting into the top tier colleges, however, in the first round of admissions I was allotted this college, which is located in North campus given that north campus colleges generally have better academic exposure, campus, life, and networking opportunities compared to South campus colleges I decided to go with it initially I also tried for the second round of counseling, hoping to secure admission in higher ranked college but unfortunately, I didn't get any other allotment since my CUET score wasn't high enough for the more prestigious colleges I had to settle for this one however I consider myself fortunate because with my score I was more likely to end up in the south campus college thanks to my sikh minority Certificate i was able to secure admission here which worked in my favor

The college is purely based on merit list except for the seat reserved for Sikh minority. However the crowd here is very mindful and cohesive. People you start getting along with will greet you wherever they see you and always up to help u with anything u want/need. The staff is equally active and works for students through students. The management tries their level best to tackle any situation that arises and help the students out. They never run away from their duty.

Admission:

During the admission process I had initially applied to Janki Devi Memorial College, New Delhi in the first merit round for Economics Hons. I was not able to land any college in North Campus on merit in 2021 because of the competitive scores everyone got in boards. However that year I had given DUJAT and that is how I got Khalsa in the first round of admission itself. Since it was the only college in North Campus that offered admission through DUJAT I locked my seat and never looked back. I did regret making this decision initially but looking back I think I make the right choice. Talking about DUJAT it was a competitive exam back then to get admission in professional courses like BMS, Business Economics and BBA. It was a very tough paper but it is only because of it that I could enjoy the famous North Campus life. The admission process is a lot different now and much more competitive. Now everyone has to go through CUET UG exams to get admission in any course in any college of DU. The merit system is no longer there for admission to UG programs in DU. I honestly think it is worth all the hard work to get into a good college in North Campus. The experience and fun is unparalleled.
