XIMB has a great legacy of 35 years and a great alumni network. The MBA-BM was one of the key interests I had and it remains. Good faculty with a case-based teaching style. Most of the faculties are Ph.D., The exams are conducted semester-wise.

Business management was always the path for me considering my end goal to be something along the lines of management. Doing it from a brand like XIMB would just push me toward getting a better start. Once I entered the campus, I realized the competition. The faculty were laureates of their domains, almost everyone had a Ph.D. Approximately, a faculty would oversee 10 students. That was the faculty-to-student ratio. The teaching methods are mostly offline, with case studies being presented and solving them with peers in the class. The exams would be there every 3 to 4 months with mid-terms in between. Considering that one was prepared, the exams were at par with what was taught in the class.

It depends on your expectation. As per the XIMB placement highlights the median CTC offered for MBA BM is around 15 LPA. PWC, Deloitte, GAIL, HSBC, Royal Bank of Scotland, etc. are some of the major recruiters to take part in the campus drive. In terms of academic rigor, student crowd, faculties, and alumni base, XIMB is a great B-School. It ranks in the same cluster as new IIMs, NMIMS, SCMHRD, SIBM Pune, etc.
XIMB BM is a good option for freshers. Almost half of the batch comprises freshers so, you won’t be at any disadvantage. XIMB offers good placement opportunities for both experienced professionals and freshers. During XIMB placements 2022 the average CTC offered was INR 17.54 LPA. As a fresher, you can expect to receive a CTC nearing the institute average.

Pursuing a degree in HR from NMIMS would be a better option if it comes to educational excellence, ranking, infrastructure, campus life, hostels, or placement.
If we draw a comparison between these two prestigious institutions then it would depend on various aspects. They are as follows:
Particulars |
NMIMS Placement 2023 |
XIMB Placement 2023 |
Highest Package |
INR 67.80 LPA |
INR 71.51 LPA |
Average Salary |
INR 26.63 LPA |
INR 20.03 LPA |

The interview process for XIMB BM is pretty standard. The direction and the overall interview experience will depend a lot on how you are answering the questions. There are usually three panelists.
The interview starts with an introduction. There will be questions regarding your family background, past academics, etc. There will be questions about your undergraduate subjects. You can also expect general questions such as ‘Why MBA?’ ‘Why XLRI?’ etc.
Try to give short and straightforward answers. Try to stay patient and confident throughout the whole interview.
Consider joining FMS if you don’t have an extraordinary academic background. It is a renowned business school with a really good ROI. Moreover, it only expects a good performance in CAT, and does not consider the past academic performance of the candidates.
Here are some other benefits of joining FMS for your management studies-
All these facts make FMS a really good college for management studies.
I would say that you should definitely choose XIMB.
It's their primary program, and it will be much better than IMT G's DCP program. Just because of cost. The DCP program has fees that are over 22 lakhs and an average package of around 9 lakhs per annum. In contrast, the XIMB BM program has an average package of 13 lakhs per annum and fees of 15.40 lakhs for two years. Also, keep in mind that the DCP program is still new, so there won't be much support from the business.
I would have considered IMT G if it was a full-time program. If you can move up to IMT Ghaziabad and want to get an MBA with a focus on marketing and entrepreneurship courses, you should choose IMT Ghaziabad. But the DCP course fee isn't worth it for the same opportunity unless you want to work abroad, especially in Dubai.
XIMB offers a two-year full-time residential program in Business Management (BM), which is a highly-ranked program in India.
If you have 5 years of work experience in Supply Chain Management, XIMB-BM can be an excellent choice for you to pursue your postgraduate degree. XIMB-BM provides a comprehensive curriculum that covers various areas of management, including supply chain management, finance, marketing, human resources, operations, and information systems.
The program at XIMB-BM offers students with hands-on experience, industry exposure, and managerial skills, which can help them to excel in their careers. The course structure includes classroom sessions, case studies, industry projects, and internships. The program also has tie-ups with various reputed companies, which provide students with the opportunity to work on live projects and gain practical experience.
Additionally, XIMB-BM has a strong alumni network, which can provide you with opportunities for networking and career growth. The institute also offers excellent placement opportunities, with top companies recruiting students from the program.
Overall, XIMB-BM can be an excellent choice for someone with 5 years of work experience in Supply Chain Management, as it provides a well-rounded management education, hands-on experience, and excellent placement opportunities.
With such good scores, no one would suggest you join XIMB though it is a pretty good college and reputed too. You should give a shot to old IIMs.
To get into old IIMs, you must score at least 99+ in the CAT exam, but if you have a score of 95+ also, you will land up in one of the new IIMs. Apart from the IIMs, there are other B-schools as well which are pretty demanding and rank high in MHRD ranking such as SP Jain Institute of Management, MDI Gurugram, etc. These institutes are also in the same league as old IIMs.
In a nutshell, you should continue with your job and give the CAT exam to score the 99+ percentile. You will be able to get a better college than XIMB. If you are capable of getting something better, why settle for anything normal. Just re-think upon it and have faith in yourself.
