What is the expected NMAT cut-off for XIMB courses?

Since last few years, XIMB started receiving NMAT courses for admission to some of their flagship courses, i.e. HRM, RM, XSOS, UMG. There is no specific cutoff and the yearly numbers vary. But usually, the cutoff for these courses is in the range of 170-190. You should note that XIMB doesn’t consider NMAT scores for courses like Business Management or Global Management.

What was the cut-off for previous two years for XIMB-bm/hrm (through CAT) and IIFT?

For their BM and HRM program, XIMB takes admission through CAT/GMAT/XAT/XGMAT. According to the cutoff trends of last few years, the required CAT cutoff for 2022 is 92. While XIMB cutoff for XAT 2022 should be around 92-94. The institute doesn’t accept IIFT examination scores for admission.

The XIMB cut-off is based on XAT/ CAT/ GMAT/XGMT/NMAT. The cutoff figure is the minimum score required to be eligible for a personal interview. When it comes to the cut-offs for XLRI's HRM and BM programs, it is important to note that they are generally quite high. Specifically, for the HRM program, XAT cut off at XIMB is typically around the 85+ percentile. For the BM program, the cut-off is typically around the 90+ percentile. While these cut-offs may seem quite high, it is important to note that they are only the minimum requirements for being considered for the final conversion process. What percentage of questions does one need to answer to clear XAT and get admission in XLRI or XIMB?

There is no definite percentage of questions you need to clear in order to secure yourself a seat in XLRI or XIMB. The obvious answer is every year the question paper difficulty level varies and so does the percentile cutoff. Simply, your chances of getting a seat in both these institutes purely depend on your percentile just like JEE-Main rank is the criteria for national-level institutes. My friend took admission in XIMB in 2018, the scores of their batch were between 56.5 to 89 out of 150. Here the person scoring has 100% percentile whereas the person getting 88.5 will be close to 99% percentile. Hence, the percentile cutoff varies each year. For example, for admissions in 2019, the percentile cutoff was: XLRI Jamshedpur: BM – 91.25, HR – 88 (With Sectional Cutoffs) XIM Bhubaneswar: 94 (With sectional Cutoffs) Here are few tips to secure a high percentile in these exams: Focus on the accuracy of your answer. Do not just beat around the bush or select an answer which doesn’t hit the accuracy. Try to solve at least 60% of the total questions. For the rest, you can solve the ones you know properly. Always aim for the highest mark, you never know if you are the one having a 100% percentile. Therefore, thinking about percentile cutoff is in vain until the results are out. As the cutoff will totally depend on your performance, it is best recommended to focus on your performance in the exam. After all, your success depends on your hard work and fervour towards your goal.

I got only 59.61 percentile in DILR. But in English and maths I got 97 and 88 respectively, overall 90.71. Will I get calls from IMI Delhi and XIMB?

If you have an aggregate percentile of above 90%, you can go with IMI Delhi as the marks are not evaluated subject-wise. However at XIMB, they have mentioned that they will have a sectional cut-off, but you are above 50% in all the sections. But before you choose any of the institutes, you should ask yourself, if you put enough effort into quants and DILR while preparing. If the answer is no. Then, it will be better to prepare for another year and aim for a better score. If you put in the hard work now, you can get into a much better B-School like IIMs, SPJ, etc. A better school means more academic pressure, but in the end, you will end up with a better CTC and a reputed company. In corporate life, pressure is not available, so why not aim to do it with a better salary? If you put in 18 hours of work for 6-7 months, your percentile will definitely improve. And if staying motivated is a challenge for you, you can get a mentor who will push you to do better. So, although IMI and XIMB are pretty good options, it will be better if you try to better your percentile.

XIMB Cut-off 2024: XGMT, CAT, XAT, Previous Year Cutoff

XIMB cutoff of CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ X-GMAT will be release by the institute. XIMB conducts its own exam for MBA admission i.e., X-GMT, but the candidates can also apply for the MBA program if they have appeared for the CAT, XAT, and GMAT exams. For the XIMB MBA admission 2024, the institute will consider the scores of XAT 2024, CAT 2023, and GMAT taken in the last 2 years.

The XAT/ CAT/ GMAT/ X-GMAT cut-off is decided by XIMB itself to shortlist the candidates for the selection process. The XIMB cutoff for CAT/ XAT/ X-GMT is around 91 percentile and the 550 score for GMAT. Clearing the minimum cut-off does not guarantee admission to XIMB. The candidates will be evaluated based on their performance in the selection process, which would include the Written Ability Test, Group discussion, and a Personal interview.

The crowd I found at XIMB was fairly good, not exactly Odiya crowd only, but people from many other cultures also, like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai. Everyone comes with a different experience in life and have something unique to offer.
The exposure to learning various management skills is pretty good here. Everyone from faculties, to ground staff, to students, everyone will give you an opportunity to learn something new everyday. The campus life will always keep you on your feet.

Admission:

Admission to XIMB can be secured in 3 ways: CAT, XAT, and XGMT. The exams are held from November to January time frame and the admission forms open from around October goes on till January. The application form can be accessed from the website of the college, or other social media pages on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram can also redirect you to the link. The college usually has 50% reservation for Odiya domicile. After the exam, if you qualify for the cut off which is usually around the 85 percentile, you get an admission interview call letter from the college. The interview takes place with a panel of professors from the college.

You have to get through the exams like CAT, XAT or GMAT and then based on the GD & PI round you will be selected. If some one has work experience one can get some added advantages. The quote system should be removed, students from Odisha have some reservations which should be removed

The college is at the heart of the city. The college gets a varied pool of students.
The campus life is very welcoming and keeps students engaged.

The number of opportunities available is many and it gets difficult to participate in all.

The admission process was quite smooth. Everything was mentioned on the institute's website about the exams it considers. The website had the mentioned dates for each program individually. The eligibility criteria are you should be a graduate at least.

A glimpse into the life at XIMB

The facilities that the campus offers in terms of academics and classroom activities.

Post completing my Bachelor, I was working in a firm for 22 months. With that work experience, I took CAT in 2021, aspiring to enter into a B School for the batch of 2022-24. I started to apply for different exams on the side to maximize my chance. Based on the different percentile predictors, I was applying to various colleges. XIMB was a big brand, even some of my friends had passed out from the same college. They were placed in good companies. After looking through the past estimates of the cutoff, I was quite affirmative about receiving a call from XIMB. Post that, the main focus was to convert this chance. This compelled me to apply for this. Through the website, I realized that I had the leverage of being a domicile of the state which would give me priority. I availed the same. Post clearing the cutoff, I started with the admission process and reached out to different avenues for the educational loan.
