The KTU syllabus is good on the theoritical side. The practical side is nil. None of the students have any practical knowledge even after labs and assignments as industry does not expect that. The new syllabus that the autonomous batches have is good. They value theory and practical equally and also have a 6 month mandatory internship period.

Civil engineering is considered as the mother of engineering with never-ending demand It can be considered as a 3-tier job(self-employment, govt jobs, private sector ) so chances of getting a job are also high. The faculty-to-student ratio is approximately 1 faculty for every 8 students The teaching faculties are highly qualified with most of them having PhD in their respective subjects. The teaching is mainly done via smart classes. The PDFs and notes are shared via Google Classroom. The classes are of average levels. Despite high educational qualifications, some faculty are not that good at teaching. All the internal exams and project presentations were completed at regular intervals with almost no delays. It is also moderately easy to pass the exams.

I chose this course because I wanted to pursue a career in civil engineering. There is a good faculty-to-student ratio in this college and also the teachers excel in their area of expertise. Term exam was conducted every 6 months and exams weren't tough or easy it was somewhat in the middle
I chose civil engineering to perceive a career opportunity.Faculty members in Mar Baselios College are highly trained and knowledgeable. They have staff advisory for continuous monitoring of student's performance. The staff is very friendly, and we can approach them anytime to get our doubts cleared. Semester exams are average. But the thing is that yes it is a degree course which is quite difficult to pursue because it requires a regular study and the student must be completely focused on the subjects and innovations that are taking place every day with the advancement in the technology .
I chose this course because i love construction. In our college each class has approximately 50-60 students. The minimum qualitification of teachers teaching there were M.TEK. On each sem there is two internal exams. It is conducted by college. Only a brilliant student can pass all exams. Others will definitely fail atleast one subject.
I chose my civil engineering course because I like it so much . The teaching method is very good
The fee structureduring when we were studying was comparatively higher than today. During our time it was mostly the community seat and the nri seats which were available. Later when the merit seats came in, the fee structure also changed and the transparency became higher.
The tution fee per year is around 75000 We need to deposit 1lkh which is refundable in 4th year Other expensive other than buying record books and note book are low The campus provide a very maintained and well defined library so we don't need to buy all the text book. Also they provide varies scholarship for the eligible students
In the beginning year we have to pay a one lakh of refund amount which will be refunded in the end of the course. Every year the students have to pay an annual income of around eighty two thousand except those who having scholarships.
