Placement:

I don’t think I have enough information for this or I’m unaware of this so I don’t think I have the best answer.

Internship:

First Co-op at Giftbit Inc. as a Marketing Co-op for 8 months. Applied online through LinkedIn and did 2 rounds of interviews (phone then virtual) and submitted a marketing portfolio (samples of past work). Second Co-op at YVR Airport (Vancouver International Airport) as a Communications Co-op for 4 months. Applied online through the UBC Sauder job board and did 1 round of interview (in-person).

Placement:

There is a demand for my profession, so students usually find a job in the same field while they are studying, such as me. Initially they work part time and once we graduate we can work full time. As a certified professional you can either be self employed or work for a center. Professors are extremely helpful in providing you with a list of people or centers that we can approach. As my course is unique, there is no specific placement process. The median salary depends on how many hours the student wishes to work. As a part time student I ask for $25 an hour and work for 14-16 hours a week only, as I also give priority to my education. Once students graduate the hourly rate increases to $30-45 per hour, depending on your skills and work experience. Once we receive our certificate the rate changes to $70-130 per hour.

Internship:

My program doesn't have a co-op or a required internship. But the course is designed to go hand in hand with the requirements of the BCBA board certification. So students can work in the morning and attend classes in the evening. In my case my program advisor helped me find supervisors under whom I can work. I then sent the supervisors an email and depending on if they can take on additional students, then they responded accordingly. Some supervisors charge you for supervision but some don't.

Placement:

UBC has a great reputation for getting their students into decent to large companies: my brother, who works in computer science, has been making over C$120,000 a year since the age of 24/25. They have great career counseling to help you clarify what you want to become, too. 81% of graduate students from UBC get employed, and 72% of the students have partnerships with employers. About 50% of UBC’s engineering students who participate in CO-OP work for big-name companies like Tesla and Intel, and many are known to create innovative start-ups that tend to work out. I don’t know much about the placement process yet, as I’m a second-year student right now, but I will be doing CO-OP for HR which will help me get placed in a good company.

Internship:

I plan on doing a CO-OP in HR in my third year, I have not done any yet.

Placement:

It is relatively harder to secure full-time roles post under graduation since the job market in Canada is pretty bad right now, but it's definitely not impossible. Networking, making connections in the industry is quite an important aspect of this.

Internship:

Yes, I am enrolled in the Co-op program of UBC, I am currently working at the UBC Student Development and Alumni Engagement Office, and I am also working part time at a startup called Minivillage. It is also important to note that UBC does not offer placements, you have to find and secure any role (internship/part-time/full-time) on your own ability.

Placement:

The placement and research opportunities are sufficient because the university and program is well accredited.

The university provides a combination of well curated academic curriculum and lots of opportunities for extracurriculars as well. The infrastructure is at par with the high ranked universities.

Placement:

I am looking for jobs, no doubt finding a job is the most challenging part. UBC has a career service office that helps you with the resources to prepare your application and interviews.

No, I did not do any internship I worked part-time on-campus.

One of the major concerns at the university is the dishearteningly low placement rate, which poses significant difficulties for graduates in their pursuit of meaningful career prospects. Securing a good job after completing one's degree has proven to be a daunting task for many students. Addressing this issue is crucial to ensure that graduates are equipped with the necessary skills and support to thrive in their chosen fields and make a successful transition into the professional world.

My overall experience is okay. I am not very happy with the studies and curriculum as well as the campus life but i still got to learn a lot of things which I wouldn't have if I was to be still in India,

Placement:

There are career fairs organized on campus for networking and placements. However, there are no placement drives taking place. So, placements are dependent on individual students. There are certain programs which offer co-op opportunities, which can convert into full-time jobs once the course completes.

It was an amazing experience, especially since it was completely different from how the education scene is in India. You are responsible for yourself and your career. Seniors and mentors can only guide you, but you will be the one steering. There is a diversity in the professors as there is in the students. The campus is huge and beautiful.

Placement:

No idea yet. I’m still on the process of understanding them.

As I said the campus impresses, I felt the climate suits me much more than the rest of the top universities in Canada, and being part of such a great school has resonated with many when I mention being a student there.

Placement:

The average post- study Placement / Research opportunities of your program for students is very poor. You need to have a good network which can help you place the job especially if you don't have valid Canadian experience.

It was a last minute thing. I didn't have a choice. It was in water management and a one year course. It was good for the friends I made. It is good if you are looking for PR. It is not good if you are looking to improve knowledge or get a job as soon as you are done with your course.
