My overall experience is okay. I am not very happy with the studies and curriculum as well as the campus life but i still got to learn a lot of things which I wouldn't have if I was to be still in India,

Course Curriculum :

In my opinion, the courses being taught are outdated and irrelevant in today's world. The course curriculum is along the same wavelength as it was 50 years ago. While there are some business trips and research experience, it is not as much as it should be.

Exams :

Admission requirements for my admission abroad was IELTS 6.5 minimum or TOEFL, Class 12 more than 85%, and volunteer experience or extracurricular activities. SOP - UBC has it's own set of questionnaire that you have to fill out. It's slightly different from SOP but in the same wavelength. LOR- You have to submit at least 2 LORs from relevant fields. I had a virtual interview for a specific program, where they ask a pre-recorded question and you get a minute to answer them.

Placement :

One of the major concerns at the university is the dishearteningly low placement rate, which poses significant difficulties for graduates in their pursuit of meaningful career prospects. Securing a good job after completing one's degree has proven to be a daunting task for many students. Addressing this issue is crucial to ensure that graduates are equipped with the necessary skills and support to thrive in their chosen fields and make a successful transition into the professional world.

Fees :

40000 CAD.

Faculty :

One advantage of my faculty is the smaller student population, which results in a more favorable student-to-professor ratio. However, there is a significant disparity among the professors, with some being highly knowledgeable and approachable, while others remain distant and hard to approach.

Campus Life :

The campus life leaves much to be desired, as there is a noticeable lack of engaging and enjoyable events and activities. Furthermore, the gym and fitness facilities fall short of expectations, with limited space that can hardly accommodate the number of students.

Hostel :

I live off campus.
