- MBA was a stepping stone to my career to pivot into strategy sector and Schulich has been a school famous for strategy consulting sector,
- The brand name associated with the school is something i love about. The school has some amazing courses taught by industry leaders from different countries. These professors have over 15-20 years of industry wide experience before they set their foot in teaching
- Dislikes:
- The school is academically rigorous which sometimes is good however might be a burden for students applying for Fulltime/ Part time jobs. The University is a little away from downtown region of Toronto where most of the companies are located
Overall I would say it was a life changing experience when it comes to Schulich School of Business, York University. The staff is welcoming and never I felt I was in a different country because of the people around.
- Likes:
- The faculty is experienced and industry practitioners.,
- The way courses are structured such that passing is very easy but acing is difficult.,
- Learning experience involves case method, class discussions, opportunity to develop soft skills.,
- Students ready for the course can anticipate exams with some success.,
- Emphasis on student collaboration through the capstone.,
- Course books are good for students who are looking to master the content.,
- The B-School provides opportunities for exchange semesters.
- Dislikes:
- The school has low diversity.,
- Not enough focus on group activities outside of school work. Schulich MBA ropes in only pro sports individuals.,
- Low utilization of ancillary business that support the York University ecosystem as a means for intermingling.
The experience was enriching and pro academics. The B-School maintains a diversity in age groups even though the diversity in nationalities is fairly limited so international exposure is lacking to an extent. Overall a student expects to attend one event a month with the diverse cohort. Overall I would rate the experience 8 on 10.

- Canada is immigration friendly.,
- Schulich is good in all domains of studies and the few of the faculty members are top-notch. Schulich has a good brand across the country and is picking up wide acclaim as the best place for entrepreneurship.
- Dislikes:
- In terms of diversity, Schulich is lagging behind as almost 80% of the student strength here is from Asia (especially India). This makes a huge negative cultural impact in terms of studies and work culture.
Overall it is a decent experience. While the amenities are fine, I feel everything is left to the student to find their own job or progressing in their career. I wanted more diversity and better economic opportunities. If given a chance, I would try for a US university.
- Likes:
- One of the top 3 business schools in Canada.,
- "Flexibility and variety of options to specialize. Mostly great professors. Teach things from basics. Constantly introducing new courses and curriculum. Strategic Field Study with an actual company (Thesis project)"
- Dislikes:
- Few courses still deal with decade old case studies. Few of the interesting courses are restricted to specialized master's programs and are not open to MBA. Career development center needs a lot of improvement, especially individualized attention, guidance and mentorship.
Experience with Schulich was great. Helped me build my network in Canada. Fulfilled my primary objective of gaining knowledge on different business functions. It would be better if there was individualized attention and mentorship as few other colleges like Rotman does. Curriculum is mostly easy or not very difficult. I observed that some US business schools teach similar courses that have higher difficulty level with more contemporary cases, math and techniques.
One of the best institute according to me it was best for me for fees and salary and all was good I have given all documents required for the admission process. I have worked hard to get admission to this institute
