The campus placement is above average. More than 90% cadets are placed every year in top shipping companies like CHEVRON, TORM, MOL, M.Sc. , FLEET MANAGEMENT, NYK. Cadet also get intership opportunities.

- Our college have the Asia's biggest marine workshop with several Marine engines and auxiliaries. And also various labs for gaining practical knowledge. All the facilities are highly professional and most of them are Chief Engineers.
- There are different kind of sports in our college basketball, football, cricket, volleyball, badminton, kabaddi, table tennis and also there are gyms for every year hostels and also many types indoor games. So there are many things you can enjoy.
Dislikes
- The most common thing a hostel dweller can complain about is the quality of the mess food. They need to look upon it.
- Drainage problem during the monsoon of bengal somtimes some places get waterlogged. Although administrative actions are being taken everytime.
Placement Experience:
Almost everyone in the batch get placement if they want there are many highly reputed companies in the international markets come to take cadets such as Chevron, Shell, NYKSM, Eagle Star, Fleet Management, Anglo Eastern, Synergy, Torm Tankers, Dynagas etc. etc. almost 240/260 gets in campus placement. Cadets from the 4th semester are eligible for placements and for the lady Cadets they can sit for placements from 2nd semester.

Telling about the placement of the college from 2016 entry batch till 2020 entry batch(which is till now) have secured 100% placement record. Till now there is no case off unemployment if any chance college placement if not secured by someone then also my opportunity are there for the cadets of this college.

From third semester onwards companies keep recruiting for cadets. You have to maintain a decent percentage and remain all clear in your semesters to appear for college placements. Based on demands, cadets who remain all clear will get enough chances to sit for placements.

Placement is definitely good lots of companies used to visit Campus and start to offer placement from third year only. Lady cadets gets upper hand in placement due the their excess demand in maritime industry. approx 90% cadets gets placed till 4th year

Placement Experience:
Our Placement of the college is best from all marine colleges and 85% of the cadets get placed. They got eligible from 2nd year and many companies start recruiting from 2nd year . The companies like wsm, pb, fleet and chevron which are best companies which more number of cadets. Mostly all the cadets of our college get the on campus placement. This is all due to our alumini network.

- The Gym and sports facilities is the place where we spend our most of the college life. The college has Gym and sports for each batch.

- The hostel mess food okay but sometimes its so bad !!

The placement record of college is very excellent and most of the students get placed on campus. The placement get started from 2nd year only and the company's start visiting the campus for recruitment. The company's like chevron, fleet management, Pacific basin visit and average package provided is about 70000-80000 per month. 90 to 95% of cadets get placed but those who didn't take placement get placement easily outside the college.

From childhood I have a dream to have uniform that is the main reason why I opt for merchant Navy and i also have a craving for machine so i have choosen engine department of the merchant Navy which is btech in marine engineering and i have choosen imu kolkata previously known as dmet as well as meri as it the best college for btech in marine engineering
