Best College

The most important thing I like about the college is that the teachers are very friendly, they are ready to help in any problem we face even other than academics.
The students who are from the other parts of the country and is not aware of our language and lifestyle are treated accordingly and with more care.

Nothing

There are several companies which offer internships after the 3rd year. They send for 6 months internships to different parts of the country which provides many opportunities to the students. Unlike other departments this department provides more internships.

Jadavpur University a dream come true for a lower middle class student

The university consists of Engineering, Science and Arts all the faculties combined that gives the huge exposure for a student who has just left their school and want to meet new people to build a good communication skill.
The techno management fest Srijan organised by engineering faculty and cultural fest Sanskriti organised by all three faculties make the learning curve of a student joyful and not monotonous at all

As it is a state founded University and very less fees there is a chance that some old buildings have very poor infrastructure and maintenance.
Due to some political activism and media coverage sometime the campus life gets hampered but the academic is not compromised at all

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario of Jadavpur University is remarkable over the year. In case of 2023 the branches like mechanical engineering , instrumentation electronics And Computer Science Engineering showed 100% placement. Where as my department civil engineering showed 97.5% placement.

A Brief Review of Jadavpur University , Kolkata

The faculty is very good and helpful . They are very learned and experienced in their respective fields and have many contacts in the industry .
The peer group is very good and supportive . They treat each other like a family and always ready to help each other.

The campus is not very big as it is situated in the main city of kolkata . So , there is not much to explore.
The gender ratio is very poor . In a class of 150 students , only around 12-15 girls are present.

Various internship opportunities are available from the third year onwards. Companies like Microsoft , amazon , oracle etc for tech roles and core companies like bechtel , cesc etc for core opportunities take interns from our colleges.

Jadavpur University - through the lens of souranil

It's famous for its return of investment. Actually people says Jadavpur has better ROI than many IITs. You can grab great placement though giving just 12k fees.
Jadavpur University located at the main kolkata town , so it's accessible for transportation and also we have Jadavpur station that is just beside the university. Also the campus is fully greenery everywhere and calm to visit.

Honestly saying nothing there to unlike about the university in such a cheap cost and great roi . But our infrastructure isn't too good to compete with the world class universities. There aren't AC in classrooms and the benchs are also old and broken
You don't get a good girls to boys ratio in the engineering departments . Actually there aren't any kind of reservations for girls in our university. Our sex ratio is up . It's like 10:1 or even much in some branches.

If you are a student of cse or it you can grab a high stipend internship. Also if you are from core branches you can get a decent internship with a good stipend. Many times this internships transfer into pre placement offers.

The experience of the teachers and the way they teach is very proactive and attractive
The students are very helpful, especially seniors and help out a lot with notes and pyqs

Internship opportunities are vast with big companies like ITC and Accenture looking for interns. We are eligible for internships from the fifth semester and the process to get noticed by companies is very open and the exposure goes a long way to help the students.

Jadavpur University: The Confluence of Creativity and Academic Excellence

The fee structure is very affordable and scholarship opportunities are abundant. The authorities are not strict with the timing of fee payment. The infrastructure is comparable to IITs and in some departments even better.
With the placement scenario sound and favourable for all departments, the return of investment is the highest in the country.Top MNCs come to the campus for placement.

The hostel lacks good infrastructure albeit the low fees.
The washrooms in the campus are not well maintained.

Internship opportunities are there in abundance. The companies that come to the campus for placement also select interns during that time. Interns 1 or 2 in number for each company receive good stipend ranging from Rs 30000-150000 per month. Interesting problem statements are provided to them and their talents are gauged sfter which some students also secure PPOs. I am still a 3rd year student , so I won't be able to elaborate on the tasks much.
