The hostel rooms are provided with a bed, an almirah to keep clothes, a study table, and a chair. All the windows are covered with mosquito nets. The food is not up to the expectations of the northern people. Every month we have to register for the mess there are 11 mess halls combined in total and students can choose any mess hall upon availability. Students of every year get allocated to different hostels which are allotted by the administrative office.

Students can get hostel facility for that you need to pay the required fees. The fee is 37k per semester. Overall the hostel life is good But the sanitation & washrooms are on the path of development and there's a lot of room for them to get developed. Monkeys cause a big nuisance when you are in a hostel. In a hostel room, you get one wall-mounted cupboard, one table, one chair, one bed, and a LAN facility in the room. there are two kinds of menus provided one is south & the other is north. The south one is a bit better than the north one. Overall the food quality is okayish.

The hostels most violent neighbours are ???? monkeys they're are always ready snatch and also to do monkey things Facilities provided in the room are a reading desk with chair and cot with fan and light cupboard and common bathroom outside with 5 bathrooms in a floor of capacity 30-40 lavatory and wash room and washing machine Meals are very hygienic and served on time and closes little bit late for the sake of students The food is great and even have jain mess. We have double-sharing rooms for first year and second year undergraduate students. We are provided with 2 beds and 2 cupboards and two tables and chairs. I would rate 5/10 for mess food. You just have to pay the hostel fee before start of every semister and then you will be alloted a hostel and mess . The hostel and mess fees is 37000 per semister ,which I think is affordable.

The hostel Facilities are pretty cool. The student will be provided with basic amenities like one bed, study table to work, chair and cupboards too. There are six hostels for girls and 18 hostels for boys. The hostel representatives will take care of the respective hostels. The maintenance of gardens are very good in my hostel. They also provided with the swing to go and relax for sometime.

The one complaint i would have about IITM would be the hostel and mess systems. We used to live in our hostels with monkeys for months until they fixed that issue. And the monkeys were unusually violent. The mess food also gave us food poisoning a lot of times. The timings should also be extended. Overall it is also quite expensive. 40000 per semester. including vacation fees but they would ask for vacation fees separately sometimes too. We have to pay the fees in advance or we wont get to access our rooms or mess food.
