Does the college provide for any financial assistance to students?

Yes, the University extends complete support for easy education to eligible students in the form of bank loans and scholarships. Free admissions are provided to meritorious poor students and academically sound candidates. Different scholarships are offered on merit cum means basis.

Is there any hostel accommodation available on campus?

Yes, the USTM campus has separate hostels for girls and boys. As of now, there are 2 hostels for each for boys and girls. Every hostel is complete with modern amenities supervised by a warden. There are facilities like a pollution-free environment, water, electricity, wi-fi, security, beds, curtains, table, chairs, lawn, etc. Admissions are provided on a first come first serve basis.

What all facilities are available on campus for students?

There are several facilities available on campus for students that include auditoriums, conference hall, hostels, state of art classrooms, labs, library, fitness center, skill development center, and many more. The campus also hosts regular sports and cultural activities where students can participate in different activities.

What is the admission process for foreign students?

Yes, admission rules are quite different for NRI or foreign students. There is an international admission desk for NRI candidates that controls various aspects of admissions. Diploma, UG, PG, and doctoral level programs are available for eligible students.

My lovely university University of science and technology Meghalaya.

Likes

Environment was so faculty was so helpful
There were lots of activities except learning which help us to improve our skills
Our classmates are also very friendly they help us in various works like project making for field trip etc .

Dislikes

There are some strict rules also which sometimes disturbed us .
The communication system was also poor in that days but may be it will be good now a days.
We get very short time of vacation during the study period which disappoint us.

USTM "THE AMAZING LAND"

I liked the environment of the college. The environment is very peaceful and calm . They provide many facilities such as canteen , amenity area , parks and many more such facilities. The infrastructure is also very beautiful.
I liked the teaching style of the teachers . They try to relate the learning with real world problems.
The classes are very spacious and lively making it a very exciting class.

Dislikes

The blocks are located very far making it difficult to move from one block to another .
The university is located at very top making it little difficult to travel.
The placement opportunities should be more for the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course ( bba) provides me with many opportunities in the upcoming future . It opens opportunities in the job market. The curriculum not only teaches us subjects from our department but also from other departments too making it fun to learn . It prepares us with situations to face in our real world . The curriculum can include more sports activities to make the learning more fun In the 6 month course first sessional mostly takes place 1 month after the course has begun , again after 1 month 2nd sessional, again after 1 month 3rd sessional . The end semester questions are based on our sessional exam papers .

This is already a best college already I said
The most beautiful campus I have ever seen I love the geen environment of our campus
The faculty members are very expert the are the store house of knowledge

Dislikes

As a student here I'm saying we have spent our whole in university wake up for university and come back after Sun set
The area of our campus is very vast and not plane because it a hilly area
Don't like the rudeness of our lady lab assistant

The environment is pollution free and in the midst of the nature of Meghalaya.
Designated buildings for different courses along with good infrastructure which is also handicap friendly.
Self sufficeint campus with atms,cafes,stationery,etc.

Dislikes

connectivity with the city of guwahati is difficult and hard to get after sunset.
network coverage during normal condition is fine but during winters and rainy season, it is abysmal.
soo much strict that it gives the feel of a school than a college or a university.

Review of my academic life

Likes

The infrastructure is very well. The campus is huge and has large area for sports activities.
The faculties are helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is quite nice for study.
Our department has its own museum and a pond which I like very much.

Dislikes

The classes are burdensome as it starts from 9 to 4.
No free classes for extra curricular activities.
The fees are a bit too high. It will be helpful if it is lowered a bit.

Likes

The ambiance of the college and its location.
The teachers and their helping nature in all case

Placement Experience:

The placement drive begins for students from their second year of college. Companies like HDFC, TATA, Flipkart etc came to our college Around 5-10% students get placement every year After my degree i plan to go into the reseach field by cracking the CSIR NET exam.
