Our college ensures 100% campus placement and they really do it well. They bring good companies to the college. The companies usually offer an average package of 4 - 7 lakhs depending on the students knowledge towards the course. For last 3 years they brought Samsung to our campus, they took 4 students form my branch for a package of 10.5 lakhs for each student. After completing the degree I am looking forward for placements for a decent job in a reputed company.

Yes, it's true that NMIMS's average salary is above INR 16 LPA. In the 2023 MBA placements of NMIMS, around 36% of the batch were placed through PPOs. The highest package stood at INR 67.80 LPA whereas the average package stood at INR 26.63 LPA. Here are the salary-wise placements for the batch 2023 at NMIMS Mumbai:

So yes, NMIMS average package is really above INR 16 LPA!
One of my friends got into NMIMS through NMAT. According to him, it was not the most sorted choice as their rankings and placement reports are inflated.
Spending a huge amount for MBA education is not a great idea. People might consider it an investment, but you have to make an informed decision by also considering the ROI. Therefore, if you are an outstation student consider other colleges than NMIMS.
SPJIMER, SIBM, and XLRI placement reports are pretty accurate. Rather than the typical average/median CTC method, SPJIMER publishes its placement report in IPRS format. Every figure mentioned in the placement report is true to the 2nd decimal point.
XLRI and SIBM also keep the placement report transparent. SIBM gets its placement audited regularly. As per the 2022 placement highlights, the average CTC for SPJIMER, SIBM, and XLRI were INR 23.6 LPA, INR 23.06 LPA, and INR 30.73 LPA respectively.
NMIMS inflates the report. The numbers are quite high.
The placement scenario is quite good at NMIMS Mumbai. According to the reviews online, they provide ample opportunities for jobs in MNC’s. Lots of reputed companies visit the campus during their placement process choosing the deserving candidates. Hence the competition is usually high.
But the one thing that students have shown their concern about are the salary packages offered. The data in the website is said to be inflated to attract more candidates. But in a more true sense the salary packages are really less than portrayed. The college claims to provide an average salary package ranging from 15-16 LPA, mostly the students are offered 9-10 LPA.
The course BBA is really good and full of opportunities, but it is suggested that you complete MBA also to get a better salary package from a reputed company like KPMG, EY, American Express, ICICI Bank, etc. They have a highly experienced faculty, so you will get to learn a lot.
NMIMS Mumbai is one of the most reputed B-Schools in the country. It is well-established and has a significant industry reputation. It has a vast alumni base, great faculties, and excellent placement statistics. As it is located in Mumbai, students get great industry exposure.
It is mostly known for its Marketing, Finance, IT, and Operations specializations. Companies also offer general management roles in the placement drive. But due to the vast batch size, only a handful of people can get such opportunities. In terms of ROI, it is a bit expensive compared to the other B-Schools in the same league. The living cost of Mumbai plays a huge role in that.
Although all the institutes offer good placement to its students, a comparative analytical report based on points would be helpful for you to decide which institute to choose for your higher studies.

The highest and the medium packages are 34 LPA and 18 LPA.
NMIMS:
NMIMS has ranked 2nd among the top BBA colleges of India by India Today in 2020.
Top recruiters of NMIMS students are IBM, Johnson, and Johnson, Deloitte, ICICI, HDFC Bank, Cadila, Mankind, Accenture, Amdocs, Bajaj Finserv, Aditya Birla Group, Alkem, Cipla, and more.
The highest and medium salary packages remain to be around 30 LPA and 17 LPA.
JBIMS:
Students receive job opportunities from various companies such as Mahindra Group, TATA Group, The Boston Consulting Group, Reliance Industries, Godrej consumer products, and more.
The highest and medium packages that are offered are 32 LPA and 26 LPA.
These are the major placement related details that you should be taking into account while deciding whether you want to join any of these institutes or not.
The average salary package after completing an MBA from NMIMS depends on various factors such as
As per official data, the NMIMS MBA Average package 2023 was recorded at INR 26.63 LPA. The discipline-specific average packages of MBA programs offered at NMIMS are
However, it's important to note that this is just an average, and some graduates may earn more or less depending on their individual circumstances.
Placements at NMIMS Mumbai are overall good and they are especially appealing in the finance domain. Like any other B school, NMIMS also projects an optimistic view of the salary figures that are sometimes slightly inflated but they are not factually wrong.
Connecting with past NMIMS students can get you a better idea of the actual figures. I also contacted my friend who was in the NMIMS 2016 batch. The average CTC around that time was 12 LPA which was pretty good considering the huge batch size of core MBA. The highest CTC that year stood at 32 LPA whereas the lowest stood at 8-8.5 LPA.
Sector-wise, the average CTC of Marketing was higher than the institute's average. In addition due to lower strength in Operations, they also fared well in placements. The students in Operations were able to get the desired job easily. The placements did not face any major issue except that the in the last round packages offered were as low as 8-10 LPA when around 100 students were left unplaced.
International roles were offered by Goldman Sachs, GE, Aliaxis group & few other companies. But the postings were mostly short-term in nature wherein you have to spend 3-3 months only.
Overall I think the placements are decent but might deteriorate with the increasing batch size and fees.
My friend was an Engineering fresher student at NMIMS and was very satisfied with the placements of freshers at NMIMS.
Summer placements
During the summer placements freshers are most preferred by sales and marketing companies, especially FMCGs. Even big finance companies hire freshers. The students whether freshers or work experience are preferred on the basis of the individual requirements of the companies which keep changing. So the placement is proportionate and no distinction is made.
Final placements
The final placements take place in 2 stages. The lateral placements are for 24 months and then executive placements are for people having less than 2 years of experience.
Packages offered
During the summer placements, freshers are offered PPOs which are hefty packages. However, for Final Placements, companies do consider work experience and thus experienced ones tend to land better packages than freshers. But the entire scenario is quite unpredictable as I have seen freshers receive the highest package as well as the lowest package. Placements depend on your overall profile which includes your grades and your luck too!
The minimum package offered to the MBA graduates is not revealed by any of the institutes in their placement reports. The only way to get that is to talk through students who can say through their experience which may or may not be accurate.
The table below will however give you the highlights of the placement process conducted by each of these institutes for their MBA batches of 2018-20.
