Faculty: The professors of XLRI are renowned throughout the industry for their competency. They specialize in almost every domain one can think of be it Law, Competency Modeling, Compensation, or Performance Management. Peers: It’s the cream students who get the opportunity to get into a prestigious college like XLRI. You can see tough competition between the finest students at college. Every individual has a valuable opinion and stands to contradict others. Their thinking pattern is broad and given a case study, they look at all angles from accounting to finance to laws while proposing the solution. The situation at TISS is also quite similar. Now one can say that the curriculum can be replicated and learned faculty can be sought to match the quality of the HR program at these institutes. Is it worth spending money for a BBA at NMIMS, Mumbai?

My sister has recently completed her BBA with a specialization in Finance from NMIMS and she told me about the actual placement scenario of the college. She agrees with the fact that NMIMS is a top B School with an excellent curriculum and faculty. You will be offered amazing opportunities in the form of working in a big MNC or becoming an entrepreneur. However, the situation of placements is not what it seems from the reports. Although my sister was able to get placed she witnessed many of her batch mates unplaced or placed with a very minimal package. Many companies visit the campus owing to the great brand value but the major problem that arises is the huge batch size. The competition is tough as the intake is very high. This year the total intake is BBA 600; BCOM 180. Henceforth very low packages are offered that are not even close to those mentioned in the placement reports. In my sister's batch apart from 3 students, every student got a package of less than 3 LPA. Deloitte hired less than 17 students. While the placement scenario was really poor, the knowledge that she gained in those 3 years did help her pass CFA level-1 the next year. So it’s you who can decide if the money you spend is worth it or not by determining what you really want from your BBA.

You can pursue an MBA with any specialization here. You should reconsider your decision however if you have calls from MDI, NITIE, IIFT Delhi, IIT Bombay, and JBIMS and you are willing to study something apart from Marketing. However, NMIMS is not comparable to the older IIMs and FMS. Cost of MBA (2 years ) The yearly NMIMS MBA fees are INR 11.95 Lakhs Fees. The additional costs are around 2.4 Lakhs every year. So the total cost of an MBA for 2 years is around INR 28.7 lakhs. Worth It’s impossible to evaluate correctly if a certain B School is worth the money. Most of the time I have seen the lives of people with low packages change after their first job. So the initial package is just a stepping stone and not a deciding factor. it blends management with marketing which is really nice. the faculty is promising and the safety of students is maintained . the course is relavant to the real life industry and helps the students mould a better future

Parking is not good

From the course point of view, I think MBATECH is good option because the overall course covers up in just 5 years, which academically saves you one whole year.Also you earn technical as well as management knowledge

I like the college and the infrastructure is nice
The Schedule for the studies is very brilliant

There is no such thing about the college
One thing that I don’t like about college is about the cultural clubs

The thing is that the course relevance is very nice as compared to other institutions for thr course such as UILS and Rayat Institute for Law. Everything is well scheduled the difficulty level is moderate to high

NMIMS INDORE REVIEW

Good infrustructure with every thing u can imagine of like a good and big library and many sports common rooms
Good professors who are cooperative in many aspects and almost 1:1 girls to boys ratio

Attendance criteria is very high with 80% cirteria and 70% with medical
They give so much assignments that it is very difficult to enjoy and live many times

The curriculum includes subjects like physics , elements of biology , Engineering graphics and design, programming for problem solving, calculus , critical thinking , professional ethics , and their labs too which is somewhat the same as many colleges but further in coming semesters it is said to be very practical according to the real world applications , Teaching is done by ppts mainly which are sent ot faculty from the main mumbai campus . 2 mid term tests of 10 marks is conducted twice a semester and then term end exams are conducted

The lecture timings are a bit odd and not comfortable
The traffic outside the college is very disturbing and unsafe

The course is updated every year to cater to the modern world. Which also gives an insight of the current world through extra guest lectures, industrial visits. They can improve on a few subjects which may not be that relevant but overall the course has really interesting subjects to study and thier exams are important to ensure proper study patterns.

Course curriculum is the main thing that makes the college stand out.
The faculty was also a major aspect in the success of the course curriculum.

Not good placement opportunities, especially for the ones associated with finance.
No events organized by the college even after high fees for the college.

The course curriculum was the focal point of the college. My reason for taking up this course was because I am someone who loves money and its working therefore finance and am always intrigued with the business world therefore BBA. The course was highly efficient along with thier efficient faculties. They covered all major parts of a business as a whole be it marketing, operations, sales, financing, accounting etc. It was relevant to the knowledge required in real time on professional grounds. The area of improvement for the course could have been that it should have emphasised on learning of professional tools like Tally, Power BI, SQL etc. which helps in the current job world. I have talked about the exams in detail int he previous section itself.

The course designed is good and is very useful in real life experience. The couse teachs about all the real subjects that are used for day to day jobs and the skills required to prepare for the outside world.

Life at NMIMS

Infrastructure of the college was great, we had all facilities provided to us and had a great learning environment. Libraries had all the resources and was a great place to study for exams as well. Classrooms were well equipped.
The course structure was very detailed and comprehensive. A lot of people were pursuing CFA along with BCom Hons and it really helped them as the course covered a lot of the same topics.

Some of the faculty was problematic as they were rude and disrespectful towards the students
It was Monday- Saturday. 1 day off is not enough in my opinion as we felt tired all the time.

I would rate it 6/10 as the course curriculum was good but the planning wasn't. 3rd sem was made too tough with 4 practical and only 2 theory subjects while 5th sem and 6th sem was too easy. These subjects could've been divided better. We had 6 sems- with final exams each sem. 50 marks for internals (presentations, mid sems, projects) and 50 marks for final exams. You need 20 minimum in each to pass.

The faculty was very helpful especially during final exams.

Some course outlines for a few subjects were not helpful in preparing for final exam
Some faculty made life harder by being extra strict for no reason

The course has been very helpful in applying to real life scenarios. There were high difficulty subjects that were hard to clear for most students in the second year. The course outlines could be modified to help reduce the fail rates among students.

NMIMS Indore Review

The campus, the classes are amazing to study in with top notch gear. There are game rooms and the ground includes almost all sports.
The faculty, the faculties are great and are constantly looking to improve.

There are some cons in the committees since a lot of favouritism happens.
Attendance is quite strict so you need to be very attentive in class.

THe curriculum prepares us for the corporate world since a lot of our studying is focussed towards that area. We are asked to wear formals while presenting anything and a holisitc teaching is given. Areas for improvement would include a more focussed approach on what happens in the corporate world. Also there are a few subjects like Yoga that should be optional but are mandatory.
