Department of Mechanical Engineering @ PDEU has very helpful faculties in general. It has some of the best lab equipment, along with the only metal 3D printer in Gujarat. It also provides funding support for the deserving research ideas. It consists of many teams that participate in competition such as SAE Baja , formula Bharat , shell eco marathon etc. But, the course still focuses more on the theoretical aspects, and requires more practical implementation. You can easily pass by just mugging up the things. The examinations are average level , not so tough , not so easy.

I chose this course for practical focus. Curriculum balanced theory and application. Faculty experienced & diverse backgrounds. Faculty:student ratio good (1:12). Qualified faculty, interactive teaching. Term exams are regular, moderately challenging.

I have an interest in machines and making drones so I choose mechanically. There is a top-class faculty all faculty is from south India. The exams in on after every 2 and a half months there are mid sems and end sems all faculty is from IIT and NIT.

Course Curriculum is rigorous and you have 8 semesters spanning over 4 years. There are almost 120 students in each branch which are then divided into 2 sections. Faculty members are experienced and have good subject knowledge
The faculty of this college is very helpful to students, they are very polite and friendly to us. If anyone has any doubt you can also call directly them or meet them as per their free slot. The teaching system is also good. As this university is following the system of IITs and NITs. The laboratory infrastructure is awesome and has all the setups required.
They are extremely brilliant and the nature of the faculty is very very nice according to me and each 5 students have one faculty advisor and they will assist through the academic year I think that was the best cause in other universities they have to change by the year and the exam was quite logical and the medium to high
I was always interested in Mechanical engineering. Few of the Faculties were not so great in 1st year when the subjects are common, but the majority of the Faculties were very nice. And after 1st year all the Faculties are excellent. The department is also great and hosts many skill development programs for students.
It has good lab facilities and the course curriculum is up to the date and changes in the subjects are there after every few years so that the students learn what is happening in the world and not the course which is being taught since years
Infrastructure is awesome, faculty is I think I would say is knowledge for the ones who wants to study. And yes, We were provided with industrial exposures let it be through industrial visit or through compulsory completion of 10% syllabus via an industry expert

Therefore, for an overall outcome, the Chemical Engineering department is considered to be a much better option in almost every aspect than Mechanical Engineering in PDPU.
According to the reviews online and talking to some of my friends, I got to know that both the colleges are really good. Both the colleges have lively atmosphere and culture and also, the faculties are really good and give great placements. You won’t regret joining either of two.
Categories | Mechanical at PDPU | Mechanical at Nirma University |
Course Fee | 9.73 lakh | 7.24 lakh |
Highest CTC | 19 LPA | 20 LPA |
Average CTC | 16 LPA | 12 LPA |
Also, from overall view I think you should opt for Nirma. But don’t rush into your decision, think as much as you want and choose the best for you. The decision is all yours at last.
