I've always loved commerce since my school time so I decided to pursue qualification in the same from one of the most prestigious universities and hence I took admission in Jamia Millia Islamia. The curriculum of the course that JMI follows, prepares the students to face tuff situation in the respective field and also prepares the students to work efficeintly in their career in the field of commerce.
I chose BCom Hons because it helps and gives you a better headstart if you are looking to pursue professional degrees like CA, CS, CFA, etc. The faculty is also very good as most of them are Ph.D. holders.
I am pursuing graduation with B.com hons because I also preparing for chartered accountant and it will be easy to handle for me because most of the subjects are similar. There is a 2:1 male-female ratio. And facilities are well educated and highly qualified. There are two semesters of exams in a year. It is a little tough to pass if you will not study properly.
I chose this course because I want to pursue Chartered Account in the future and this is a well-recognised central university so its degree is valued a lot. Teachers are very well qualified and are masters in their subjects and were specialists. The examination is divided into six semesters and each semester is held in every six months.
Being a student of commerce stream, I had the option to choose between Bcom Bba and BA Hons and I filled the form for the same and my name appeared for Bcom. The faculty of commerce and business studies of jmi is one of the top management departments and the Management department of JMI ranks 36th all over India. Student intake varies from course to course and 15% of seats are reserved for NRI and 15% for foreign students. Traditional teaching methods are used ( lectures, assignments, ppts). There are 2 semesters in a year and each semester exam was of 30+70 marks. If one studies properly and concentrates in class, it's very easy to not just pass but score good grades.
because I was a commerce student in school so I chose the bachelor of commerce degree. Most of my friends were also Doing Bcom after inter so that was also a point and BCom offers a vast variety of options to choose from after passing out. the student to faculty ratio was 60:1. The faculty was very well qualified and had a deep and thorough knowledge of their subjects, their teaching method was also very easy and convenient. So there are no complaints in the department of faculty and education. top class faculty and top-class education. There were two major exams in a year designed semester-wise. The difficulty of the exams was moderate if prepared for it wisely and teachers did distribute notes before the exams so that was a major help.
Department of Commerce and Business studies have basically offered their courses which are BCom Hons, BBA and BA Economics. I have chosen this subject because I want to join the banking sector which has accounting as one of the specific criteria and it also gives you an option to do an MBA in future which is another side advantage of this course. There are around 55 seats in JMI for BCom Hons and this year application received by the college administration is around 1500. All the professors have done their PhDs in concerned subjects and their teaching method is a mixture of both orthodox as well as advanced ones according to the required needs for specific subjects. They are helpful and coordinating. Generally, Semester exams are held after 6months but since we got late admission so it was reduced to 3months and its difficulty is fairly related to the hard work and concept understandings of a student.
The university has a feasible fee structure since it is a government university. The university gives the admission on the basis of entrance not on financial basis, we see students coming from poor backgrounds also for those students the university also provides different scholarships and opportunities.
The fee is too feasible. It is around Rs 7500 for a year. Hostel facilities are also available at an affordable cost. The hostels charge about 30000 rupees a year including both fooding and lodging expenses. The college fees can be paid both online and offline whereas the hostel fee has to be paid offline in the bank branch located inside the campus.
Fee is very low because it's a central university. Our fee is just 5900 per year. And the facilities we are getting is much more than private colleges. So according to me you will never get such a ROI in Delhi. Your mobile expenses will be more than its fees I am sure. Fees is just 500 per month which is incredible.
