JMI Considers New Approach for UG Admissions Due to CUET UG Result 2024 Delay

JMI is the only central university which has not implemented CUET UG 2024 scores for admission to its UG courses completely. Due to the delay in CUET UG results, the university is planning to consider a different approach for UG admissions.

JMI Considers New Approach for UG Admissions 2024-25

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, Jamia Millia Islamia is considering an alternative approach for admission to its undergraduate courses due to the uncertainty over the CUET UG 2024 Result. So far, NTA has not released any date for the result declaration.

As per the university officials, Jamia Millia Islamia has organised a meeting for all of its schools to discuss the issue of CUET UG 2024 Result and come up with a solution to start the admission process in time. JMI is the only central university which has not implemented CUET UG 2024 scores for admission to its UG courses completely.

Informing about the JMI Admission 2024, the official said, "The officiating Vice-Chancellor Mohammad Shakeel will hold a meeting of deans of all schools of Jamia on July 18. They will hold a discussion on how to go about the situation and start the admission process".

As of now, the university accepts CUET UG 2024 scores for admission to its 15 courses out of a total of 50 undergraduate courses. The CUET PG 2024 scores are accepted for admission to five out of 86 master's courses offered by the university.

Universities Plans to Hold Extra Classes on Weekends to Cover Syllabus

Due to delay in CUET UG 2024 result declaration, many leading universities in Delhi such as JNU and Ambedkar University are planning to conduct extra classes in the evening after regular hours and classes on weekends to cover up the academic curriculum for UG courses. In addition to this, the universities are considering shortening the winter break for students.

This decision will be taken after careful consideration by the university authority. As per the academic calendar, the academic sessions in universities were scheduled to start on August 01, 2024. However, it has been further delayed due to the delay in CUET UG 2024 results.
