Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) is one of the quality institutes of India that provides very good education in terms of LAW and as well as placement. The admission is through CLAT and I have submitted the admission form in the institute I was called for the PI round after I got selected according to my CLAT and academics score. The admission process was smooth and all the admission-related formalities were completed within a short period of time.
Admission is done through the CLAT exam. The admission to this college is through a National level examination called the Common Law Admission Test abbreviated as CLAT and occurs once a year. Generally, the Cutoff of this college ranges from 106-120 for the general All India quota seats.
I did my graduation from HNLU and I wanted to persue my post-grad from the same college so that was the main reason I took admission here My hometown is also in Raipur so that's, why I took admission here as well as this college, supports me in all stage of my career
Once you give your CLAT paper (happens usually around mid-may), the authorities send you a notification through which you receive your All India Ranks (happens usually around June-end). You can guess your college as per your rank. Avoid the guesswork. Have patience. You will then receive further notification regarding your allotment of college on the basis of your rank. You could either finalize the option and pay some amount or click on the option of updating. If you are really sure about up-gradation, then go for it. As per your rank, your college might get upgraded. It may show the same college in the next list which comes after a week or so. There are such 3 to 5 lists. After the final list, you need to report to the college with notified documents and of course, the fees. They will give you a visit around the campus and hostel rooms. And then you just need to report with your heavy bags to the college allotted.
I had to write CLAT to get into this National Law University. I chose it because I wanted to become a lawyer. I was a science student but then I wasn't sure if I wanted to become an engineer. But then I saw CLAT as an option. I explored the career of a lawyer. I used to think it's the traditional court profession but understanding later, I got to know about the corporate experience provided by the law firms. As I wanted to get into corporate sector I chose CLAT over JEE examination.
I appeared for CLAT exam and secured admission after getting an All India Rank of 726. The CLAT exam is taken by around 50k+ students in India and it is the most elite exam for admissions in NLUs across the country.

Prior to 2008, admissions were conducted through National Entrance Tests which was replaced by CLAT as per the Supreme Court of India's directives.[4] Admissions to the Ph.D. Programme is conducted separately by the University.[5] Students belonging to the state domicile Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class, and PWD and minorities are provided with scholarships by the state governmentHNLU conducted the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) in 2013. CLAT is conducted for conducted for admission into various academic programmes (LLB and LLM) of the 14 National Law Universities (NLUs) in India. The 2013 edition of CLAT saw 29,500 test takers. Initially, HNLU rejected 1,317 out of 29,500 application forms that were "incomplete or filled improperly", but on 23 April notified on its website that "on the basis of requests made by applicants and their parents" it would allow rejected applicants to apply again on a "provisional basis".
University is improving in every way but need more student support to improve university rank.
My university is average in everything. People are doing good here. Many of its alumnus are in very good law firms or company, some have cracked civil services, some have judicial services, some have done or are doing their P.G from very good colleges in the world like Harvard, NUS etc. So we can see it as a good investment by taking admission here.
