IIIT Hyderabad BTech Admission 2024 is expected to start in June- July 2024, based on the JEE Mains score. IIIT Hyderabad BTech Eligibility Criteria

For Indian Students:

Students with an aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths in the 12th class are eligible to apply for B.Tech.
SC/ST category candidates will be given a mark relaxation of 10% in the eligibility criteria.
Candidates also will have to qualify for JEE Main or SPEC to secure admission in B.Tech.

For Foreign Students:

Candidates will be shortlisted based on SAT exam scores, except for the essay part. The minimum mark required for admission is 1070/1600.

IIIT Hyderabad BTech Selection Criteria

Selection of the candidates who have applied through JEE Main will be done based on the JEE Main cutoff released by the institute.
Selection of the candidates applying through SPEC mode, the selection process will be based on scores obtained in the written test and personal interview conducted by the institute.
The IITH Admission Test consists of a Subject Proficiency Test for 60 minutes. The syllabus would be 11th and 12th subjects.
For Foreign students: Admissions through DASA mode is through SAT scores. The primary selection criteria involve total marks in the SAT exam. Candidates successfully submitting the applications will be shortlisted for further process based on exam scores first. In the case of a tie, the candidates will then be evaluated based on marks in Evidence-based Reading and Writing (SAT) and Maths (SAT). Students tied even after the above will be given the same rank and treated on par.

IIIT Hyderabad BTech Application Procedure

IIIT Hyderabad BTech admission is completely based on the JEE Mains examinations followed by the JoSAA counselling. Candidates scoring a valid rank in JEE Mains are eligible for admission into the BTech program at the institute. Usually, JoSAA releases 6 rounds of cutoff and seat allotment, and further, more 2 rounds are released by the CSAB counselling. The list contains the JEE Mains ranks secured by the candidates for each specialization offered by the institute.

HIgh Qualiy Education: The professors are all truly experts in their fields and hence provide world class education. IIIT Hyderabad is especially known for its coding culture. Its a bit rigorous and stressful, but can be managed.

Highly Competitive: The rigorous currciulum combined with highly competitive field can be a little stressful sometimes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college is well renowned for Computer Science and its research and it can be seen in the placements as well as the papers published from our college every year. The curriculum is well uptodate with the real world and also heavily focuses on projects dealing with real world problems. I would say its highly advanced compared to other engineering colleges in India and hence doesnot require much improvement. The exams are basically quizes, midsems and endsems and all of these have considerable amount of difficulty.

Very short Campus

Our course is actually quite relevant, apart from the necessary courses like physics and human sciences that are being mandated all across India , as a computer science student I only study relevant up to dated courses over here, on top of that we are offered a bunch of electives that are being updated every year. The faculty teaching the course here has full control over the syllabus and can modify accordingly to them, therefore they often teach us what's currently going on and what will be required for us in the future

The way the academic courses are structured is phenomenal . We are given a good enough exposure of industry work through our courses only . most of the courses are important for securing a job . a lot of practicality is taught in the courses , labs .
The coding culture is very good in IIIT hyderabad .we are made to practice a lot of coding questions via labs, assignments,exams

The schedule is quite hectic .there will be many assignment deadlines on the same day
The semester keeps moving so fast without enough breaks which is quite a big headache for the students

I am a computer science and engineering (CSE) students. Iam very much satisifed with the course curriculum till now . as most of the courses which we do throughout the semester are useful in our future for industry purpose . we do believe a lot in practicality so do our courses . we mostly have tech courses which are good numberof credits other than that we also have sports , arts and a maths courses, an electronic courses . in short our course curriculum covers evrything needed . we have exams strucrured as quiz 1 - midsem - quiz 2 -endsem . geberally theses are at a gap of onr month from each other as the semester is of 4 months . apart from these we have labs, assignments, assignment evaluations,projects and other things in between throughout the semester.The difficult level of the exams depends upon one's preparation. but still the question paper , lab questions are not very easy they need a decent amount of knowledge to solve . direct questions are very rarely given in exams .

seniors are very very helpful and supportive all the time

i didnt like the wash rooms much, the wash room though cleaned daily but are kinda old.

I have taken CSD program, its very good and highly relevent, and prepares you for the real world, and starts very early, we study advance topics like DSA in 1st year itself and dont have subjects that are not at all useful for us, the course curriculum is pretty good and little hectic based on the student but is managable, the test are conducted every month on average and are medium to high level based on the course.

I wanted a CS core course with a modern curriculum, so IIIT was the place that was best suited for me. We have better CS course than most IITs in the countries. We also have special application focused courses in lieu of interships so all students can experience what its like to work for an actual company. The course load is very heavy with very frequent assignments. This can be deal better. We have 4 exam a sem=> 2 quizs, mid sem and end sem. We have surprise quizzes occasionally

The locality of the college. The college is placed in a very nice place (posh) with ISB and Microsoft literally in walking distance.
The college while quite small (66 acres) has almost everything inside it with most common sports facilities, canteens and even guest houses.

The academic rigor is too high sometimes. The constant inflow of assignments and exams can be quite tiring.
I recently learned that electives are randomly allocated with makes no sense.

I was mainly focused on CSE as my core branch. it just happened that this was the best college i could get with CSE. The teaching is hectic but the courses are structured really well. We get to learn to code in the first year itself, a bit different from other colleges. It gets a bit bit hectic due to continuous stream of assignments and exams and also increased competitiveness. But i suppose that's true for every other college.

Professors are really into their subjects what they teach and how they teach is something different.
The location in middle of the city with malls eating places everything.

No lan for first year students with low connectivity on campus.
The water quality should be looked after it gave me some problems when i first came here but you get used to it.

Updated curriculum encouraged me to choose this college over iits with endless opportunities for research and developement the history of the institution speaks for itself. Exams are like always there with weekly graded labs and exams every month the institute expects you to push yourself and the assignments are taher challenging.

I like the curriculum of IIITH as it is different from other colleges in India.
The hostel and food at IIITH are better than at other colleges in India.

The sports infrastructure of our college is not good. It need a lot of improvement.
Due to this busy schedule, we cannot explore ourselves or our interests

IIITH is compared with the top 5 IITs. I was getting lower branches in IITs. So I prefer the ECE branch at IIITH. ECE is a combination of both software and hardware, which is why I like this branch. In every batch, we have 300 batchmates, out of which 220 are boys and 80 are girls. All the faculty are highly qualified in their fields, and they all have a very good background. Almost every faculty is a PHD scholar. Each month we have exams like quizzes, midsem and endsem. The exams were designed so that you could apply concepts.

since the students are less in number so we have very less participation in cultural events and the events are not at that massive level like it happens in other colleges like IIITs and all. But overall there is no deficiency of cultural activities
sports activities are not that promoted but we have all facilities

In CSE during the first 2 years we complete all the core courses and then for 3rd and 4th year we have electives of all kinds including ML/AI All the faculty are PhDs and are highly qualified with well recognized research done in there respective fields The term exams are always conducted on time and usually on the harder side

TOPPLACEMENTS

Campus life is really good , its a nice baultiful and active campus where u can see very nice greenery , dogs and people always cheerful.
The faculty is not very upto mark , but if u plan to just study and have a hood placement , they are good for u.

I disliked the fact that the college is focus mainly on placements .
The curriculum in initial days feel very dull and not willing to study for that. basically useless.

I have my interest in Electronics. Same teacher teaches both the sections having aproximately 340 students. The teachers are well qualified and have good teaching methods that are clear to everyone. Term exams went pretty timely and it was difficult to pass if u haven't studied or paid attention in class.
