Swansea University Rankings 2025

• As per the statistics, when i joined 8/10 were getting a job within 6-12 months, and the average pay for an undergrad was 23k-30k and for a postgraduate, it was 33k-40k. I didn't have much chance due to COVID, and i am unable to review this particular requirement.
• As far as the opportunities that were posted were backed up by the universities, many companies preferred diverse people.

• My accommodation was in a student village. as soon as you confirm the university, they provide the preferred accommodations in the vicinity and we can pick anything we want. I preferred student village because it was mandatory to show accommodation to the loan-lending bank. I had zero challenges getting accommodation; I got the place confirmation within 2 days after my application to the student village.

• The percentage has gone down due to new UK laws. The average salary will be between 30-37k a year. its not easy getting a full time job in your field immediately upon graduation.
• Networking is the key, there are no campus placements. Major companies include ICON. University do host many career fairs so do attend that and network with people in your field.

• I used facebook groups to connect to university students and get accomodation in Swansea. apart from that i looked in Zoopla, sparerooms and other sites. I had plenty of options from university accommodation to student accommodations but i prefer house of multiple occupants HMO properties, they are like standalone houses with 4 bedroom or 5 bedroom where everyone is either a student or young professionals with shared kitchen.
• That gave me the opportunity to connect to a diverse culture of people. My accommodation was nearby, walking distance but i used to take the bus when necessary. My monthly rent was 450 to 500 pounds, including electricity bills, water bills, gas bills, internet and everything.
• The challenges you face are scammers so be careful and verify before confirming and sending money. as much as possible, try sending a friend or someone to physically go and see the house on your behalf. try to take accommodation near to the campus so you can walk over when required. most indian students stay nearby.

• This will be little frustrating and difficult to secure as it is bit difficult in securing the job visa. however, if you will be able to make connection then there could be chance of securing the same. But this will be a challenging task. There is one route to explore more options if you can clear SQL then more chances would be there. Apart from that try to secure short term internship which can help in securing the job. However even securing the internship will be challenege.

• You can opt for on-campus accommodation from the college site provided by the college, which costs around 600-800 pounds per month. However, you can always opt for the private accommodation which will be cheaper than the college accommodation. Benefit of college accommodation is that you will be with the college students and it will be more easy to make connections.

• I can not say the exact percentage but all my 6-7 friends got the job after 4-5 Months of completion. but they all are working in a different line of work, 3 of them got teaching, one is doing great in Bank as Associate client service. Many of pursuing further studies. Swansea Uni conducts Hiring events and recruitment drive every six months and companies like Airbus, Rolls-Royce, GE, BAE, Boeing, TATA, Many automobile companies like Jaguar & Land rovers, McLaren, any many more come there to hire the best talents. The average salary they offer is vary upon your job role and position but basic range is 22k - 30k GBP starting for freshers. 
• As i said before, you should create your profile and register yourself on the job boards like LinkedIn, then Resume is important, tailor your resume and change it for every job roles and company. For networking, the very good time is graduation and industry tours, visits, Seminars, Guest lectures and alumni meetups, try to talk to any professionals make a good impression try to get their contact details like Email or anything.

• The first thing is Bristol and Glasgow were more expensive for me, and except for Swansea, no other university offered me a scholarship.
• And the second thing is a collaboration with aerospace companies. One friend of mine was studying there, and he got to work with Mercedes Benz, so I decided to go with Swansea, and it is way more beautiful.

• 80-85% of graduating students get jobs after 5-6 months of completing their course but are not provided the sponsorship as recruiters are facing difficulty due to new UK government visa guidelines.
• Minimum salary of GBP 23,500 to maximum salary of GBP 54,000 annually can be provided to a graduate student after completing post graduate course.
• After completing graduation students find jobs through the university's own job portal, Alumni reference network, and other job portals available out there, and even Walk ins are considered.
• Recently last week we had our career fair where big companies like JLR, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Volkswagen, PwC, KPMG, Barclays, HSBC and other major companies visited the campus explained the process of conquering assessment and interview process, what skills they are looking for in resume/CV of students and suggested tips for Graduate placement roles available.

• I am living in Student accommodation provided by the university itself. There were no challenges in finding accommodation. Everything is available online on university portals and renting websites.
• My monthly rent is £410 for a large 26m square studio shared by 2 students. Best accommodation in Swansea.
• Students should go for accommodation based on their budget, sharing preferences, & dietary habits (whether veg/non-veg). For those with no specific requirements, low-cost rooms are available for around £250.

• Less than 20% students get placement. Average salary would be somewhere around £30000.
• There is no such thing as campus recruitment. You would have to do the networking, applying constantly, changing the CV, adding the projects.
• There are many major companies hiring Data scientist, so to name a few wouldn't make sense. Placement experience overall was poor for the students.

• I opted for Off campus, whose rent was £400/ month. I used online platforms to find it. The only challenge I faced was in finding the UK guarantor.
• Facilities included were big kitchen, lawn area, washing machine, 2 refrigrator, 2 clean bathroom. It was a big house with 6 rooms where 6 students could stay.
• It was 3 miles from college. Most of the Indian students stayed in houses like this only.

The post-study placement at my University is less, you will be on your own. You will have to find your internships as well as placements.

I opted for Maritime Law at Swansea University since its faculties are pioneers in contributing to the literature in maritime law. It was always my first choice thus, my decision was a no-brainer. My experience at this Uni has been enriching. For career opportunities, one has to look at themselves. Please do not undertake this course if you don't have any work experience beforehand as it will be difficult for you.

Since the university curriculum for my course is on point, it is easy to get an accreditation and you can directly work with NHS or private labs.

I chose this university as this has a higher ranking in the healthcare sector, admission process is also flexible and can apply 3-4 months prior to the course starting as well. I missed the September intake deadline which was in April/May due to my passport issues and this was the best option I had for the January intake.

Post-study career prospects are excellent. There are many students who go on to do master, Ph.D., and even Medicine after studying for this degree. There are research opportunities present if one is interested, but that would require a separate application process. However, you will be guided in this application when you start studying.

The university course -BSc Applied Medical Sciences is a fantastic pathway for those looking to go into medical research, enterprise, or study Medicine afterwards. The location is really relaxing with the beach near the university campus and the lecturers and support network is really welcoming and encouraging. I chose Swansea particularly due to the 2nd year Pathways that they provide to study Graduate Entry Medicine.

I have no clue about this as I have not opted for or searched for research opportunities/placements with the help of the university.

Well, Swansea has a good ranking with regard to Electronics and communications. Furthermore, the locale was something that was really important to me. Pursuing engineering is a tedious task hence I needed to be situated in a place that was away from all the chaos. Thus, Swansea is where I chose to be. Lastly, nothing beats Welsh people. There is no racism and everyone is accepted the way they are.
