Indian students can explore undergraduate merit scholarships, eligible postgraduate tuition discounts and competitive funding. The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) also funds approved master’s programmes for eligible applicants. These five scholarship options cover different study routes, but the base budget assumes no scholarship or award, so any funding received can reduce the overall cost.

The ten featured postgraduate programmes require a GBP 2,000 (INR 2.53 Lakhs) tuition deposit after offer acceptance, by the date in the offer email. It reduces the tuition balance and must be paid before Glasgow issues the required postgraduate Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), the document needed for the Student visa. Most undergraduate programmes do not require a tuition deposit.
For a postgraduate applicant, a useful partial cash subtotal before arrival is GBP 3,922 (INR 4.97 Lakhs): tuition deposit, current visa fee, an illustrative 18-month IHS charge and the current university accommodation prepayment. It is not the full amount you must hold for the visa. Confirm accommodation prepayment terms when your 2027 offer is issued. Visa proof of funds is separate from your tuition and living budget. For applications made from 30 November 2026, students at Glasgow must show GBP 1,203 (INR 1.52 Lakhs) per month for up to nine months, totalling GBP 10,827 (INR 13.71 Lakhs), plus any unpaid tuition listed on the CAS. Before this date, the maximum living-cost requirement is GBP 10,539 (INR 13.34 Lakhs). Unless an accepted loan or sponsorship arrangement applies, the funds usually need to remain in the account for 28 consecutive days, with the evidence dated within 31 days of the visa application.
Other costs depend on your application and circumstances. The 2027 UCAS fee is GBP 34.50 (INR 4,368) for up to five undergraduate choices, while the Glasgow MBA has a separate, non-refundable GBP 25 (INR 3,165) application fee. Applicants who need TB screening must use a Home Office-approved clinic; for example, Fortis Hospital on Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru, lists a fee of INR 3,700 for applicants aged 11 or above.

For Glasgow’s September 2027 intake, make sure you have enough funds to cover the remaining costs before accepting your offer. The GBP 5,000 (INR 6.33 Lakhs) postgraduate discount can reduce your tuition fees if you’re eligible, but you’ll also need to plan for accommodation and visa expenses before making your final decision.
Ques. How much should an Indian student budget for a one-year master's at Glasgow?
Ans. For September 2027 Computing Science MSc, the calculated midpoint is GBP 53,337 (INR 67.52 Lakhs) using tuition, 12 months of the university's living estimate, the current visa fee and an illustrative 18-month IHS charge. Add flights, tests and other personal costs; do not deduct an unconfirmed scholarship.
Ques. Does the postgraduate deposit count towards tuition?
Ans. Yes. The featured Glasgow postgraduate programmes require GBP 2,000 (INR 2.53 Lakhs), which is credited against tuition. Pay by the offer deadline; the required deposit must be received before the postgraduate CAS is issued.
Ques. Are Glasgow scholarships only available to MBA applicants?
Ans. No. World Changers Global Excellence supports eligible undergraduate offers, while World Changers Glasgow, India Excellence and Global Leadership cover eligible postgraduate courses. The GIC progression award supports degree study after its Foundation Certificate.
Ques. Will a tuition scholarship cover rent in Glasgow?
Ans. Glasgow's listed university awards are tuition reductions, so rent still needs separate funding. Commonwealth Shared includes living support for approved master's courses, but the final 2027 course list must be checked before applying.
Ques. Why does a one-year master's need more than one year of IHS?
Ans. The IHS follows the visa's length, which can exceed the course dates. Permission lasting over 12 and up to 18 months costs GBP 1,164 (INR 1.47 Lakhs) at the current student rate, paid upfront.

I applied through university portal. The university has dedicated links with different spaces for accommodations.
The monthly rent for my is around £650. The room is personal and Kitchen and bathroom are shared with 5 people . The security is pretty tight. Noone can enter just like that in our accommodation. It's pretty safe and secure.
I just applied while in India before coming and i got offered a place. It was pretty easy to get student accommodation.
I would recommend to get university accommodation as it will be helpful to get to know the area and then later on u can look for a private stay. If you know someone who is already living here, then u can opt private accommodation.
My accommodation is like 15 mins walk from the uni. Indians have societies in Uni , u can connect with them. It's pretty much a personal preference but yeah i have most of my friends in university accommodations only.
