University of Glasgow computer science and engineering programs have consistently been designed to teach fundamental principles of computation and computing systems (e.g. modeling and abstraction, problem-solving, analysis of algorithms, etc), principles that are likely to endure. At the same time, students gain experience in state-of-the-art computing technologies through practical and project work, and placements where available; but, more importantly, they learn how to adapt to the rapid rate of technological change.

  • There were some things I didn't like about my time at the University of Glasgow, but overall it was a good experience.,
  • Weather: One problem that is often brought up is the weather. Glasgow is known for having grey weather and a lot of rain, which can make outdoor activities less fun. But this is more of a problem with the weather than with the university itself.,
  • Class Size: In some common classes, there can be a lot of people in the class. In many colleges, this happens all the time, but it can make it hard to find a seat in class and talk to professors one-on-one. It's possible that smaller class sizes would make learning better.,
  • Administrative Processes: The University of Glasgow has a lot of administrative complications, just like many other colleges and universities. Sometimes, the steps for enrolling, registering, or getting a visa can be long and hard to understand. Streamlining the way administration works could make things better for all students.,
  • Cost of Living: Living in Glasgow can be pretty pricey, even though it's a lively and exciting city. This can be hard, especially for foreign students, and you may need to carefully plan your budget and finances.,
  • Communication - Despite the abundance of accessible support, obtaining accurate information can be challenging. Universities could communicate detailed information more frequently through social media platforms and daily emails.

Overall, my time at the University of Glasgow has been very rewarding and life-changing. The school not only offered a top-notch education, but also a lively and varied student life. I have been able to do many academic and extracurricular things that have helped me grow as a person and as a thinker. The dedicated teachers, state-of-the-art facilities, and helpful community have all made my college experience one I will never forget.
