• Dont have the data on it, but as a Master's student, its very tough especially for international students. They need to secure the job even before they graduate, the moment they arrive in UK, get their CV ready, get familiar with interview process here and start applying companies. Out of 10, 2-3 get job.
• Average salary for graduate engineer is 28000 GBP.

• Univeristy Accomdation, details are avilable in university website, costs from 360 GPT to 600 GBP per month depending on the accommodation type.

• The percentage of employment currently in UK is quite low as they have been implementing new immigration rules. The average salary will start from 25000 GBP per year. The best way to secure a job is through networks and references.

• I was staying in a university accommodation which was neat and safe. The fee for a whole year was 7,20,000. The websites to rent a property outside is property.pal and its very important to have a guarantor who works and stays in UK.

• The job market here is tricky and needs to have trial and error In applications. The best place to learn more about this is to go to the career fairs hosted by the university. Many companies come to these fairs and help you understand more about the company and get a better idea of the requirements and skillsets wanted by employers. Many get placed and move outside Belfast or UK in general. The QUB (Russell Group) degree opens up horizon all over the world as the degree is globally recognized.

• I was lucky enough to get into one of the cheapest accommodations that the QUB has to offer. I stay at a place named Mount Charles. I had applied for it in the month of April 2024. I was allowed a standard room in Mount Charles, which cost £110/week. Small Standard at the same accommodation goes for £85/week. But, as I mentioned before, I had received a £1000 bursary for accommodation; it cost me £90/week for a 51-week contract. In total, I paid £4610 and £300 deposit while booking.
• Mount Charles is basically a house. The washroom and bathroom are shared between 3 members, the kitchen is shared between 4 members and the laundry room & common room are shared among 9 residents. It seems like a lot of sharing but trust me, it is very empty most of the time. The house has one issue though, which is the noise. Since the house is essentially made out of wood, everyone can hear everyone else. The residents need to have an understanding among themselves and must use headphones. The laundry room is only free in Mount Charles and paid in all other locations like BT9, BT1 and BT2. Even private accommodations like Little Patrick Street (LPS), Great Patrick Street (GPS), Nelson Place, Vita and Botanic Studios. Most of these places are going to charge anywhere between £6 and £8 for per round of laundry. But it is free in Mount Charles.
• It is recommended to apply quick and have some research done on the accommodation details provided on Queen's website. Most of the accommodation are located near hot zones. BT1 is in City Centre (too far for business school), BT2 is between City Centre and Queens Lanyon building/Students Union, Mount Charles & College Garden are beside Lanyon building, which is equal distance from business school and city centers so is best for university and city centre run for groceries and lastly BT9 is very near to business school but really far away from city centre. LPS, Student Liv, GPS and Nelson Place are all near Ulster University, which is really, really far away.

• Queen's Accommodation online website. I opted for Studio apartment that cost $940 per month that includes heating, electricity, Gym, TV, kitchen. I will recommend future students to take sharing rooms as they are cheap else is your convince.
• My accommodation is near to University area and its walk of around 15 min. Many INDIAN Students lives in Willow walk and other accommodations of Queen's.

• The percentage depends on the course you are studying and your prior work experiences. In my course, some students decided to pursue a PhD after master’s but around 60–80% of graduates managed to find a job right after graduation or within some months.
• The salaries again differ on the location and the type of job. Mostly it ranges from £22,000 to £30,000 per year.
• Generally, university career services such as career fairs and workshops help in getting to know the recruiters and the eligibility criteria of their companies. If your course has a work placement, then it helps in transitioning into full-time after completing the placement. Networking with faculty, alumni, or hiring managers can provide insights on roles and vacancies. Platforms like LinkedIn, Indeed, and GradIreland (for Ireland and NI) are recommended. Queen's MyFuture website is an excellent method to find jobs. It has all the recent job openings along with the eligibility criteria, all in one place.
• Searching for a job is difficult but you have to be consistent and have to start early. I would recommend not waiting for the course to end but starting several months earlier. For my course, students mainly secured a role as research assistants, lab technicians, or research scientists in biotech or pharma. As mentioned before, some have enrolled themselves in PhD programs at Queen’s or other universities.
• For Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, most of the employers visited us during the career fairs or we got to know them through the monthly newsletters. Some of them are Avantor, Almac Group, Randox, Wellcome Sanger Institute, IQVIA, etc.
   

• I found my accommodation through online accommodation websites. Queen’s University Belfast also offers various accommodation options, but I chose an outside provider.
• The monthly rent for university-managed accommodation ranged between £600 (en suite). The room included all utilities such as electricity, warm water, heater, High-speed Wi-Fi, 24/7 security and maintenance, access to common areas like study rooms, gyms, and laundry facilities, and cleaning of common spaces in shared apartments
• I faced some availability issues because en-suite rooms were fully booked early; hence, I had a bit of tension finding a good room. Also, balancing affordability and proximity to the university was a challenge.
• I would recommend beginning to search for accommodation as soon as you receive your offer letter and joining some Telegram, WhatsApp, or Facebook groups specific to QUB students to connect with them and get insights into housing options.
• My university-managed accommodation was about an hour walk from the main campus, which was quite difficult to conquer every day.

• I opted for student accommodation in my first year since most international students opt for that and it’s a safe and secure environment. The university itself recommends international students take student accommodation provided by the university in the first year. Firstly, to engage with other students, and secondly, to adjust before they move out. The monthly rent was one £24 per week for the first year. It included a room with an attached bathroom and a common kitchen to share with the rest of your flatmate. The accommodation also had a social space call di treehouse where events were organised by residential assistants every day. In many events, he could do some activity and some also offered free food for the students. There were also free organised trips from the university for the accommodation students.
• A big challenge was not to find accommodation, but rather to do grocery shopping and cook for your own self, even though I used to do that back at home sometimes, but fully being able to manage three meals a day was a big challenge. I was fortunate enough to have found a friend in first year with whom I used to cook and go grocery shopping together.
• I would personally recommend students to bring a lot of spices. If you are an Indian and you like a certain Indian touch to your food, also bring some dry food that you will not be able to find abroad or something that is very specific to your taste. A skill that someone needs to learn before they move out is cooking something that you can prop up in less than half an hour. It is very important for being a student.
• In the second year, I was again in the same accommodation, but in the third year, I was in a private student accommodation, which had 195 GBP per week as its rent.
• My first year accommodation was around 30 to 40 minutes. A walk from my main campus and in my third year. It was around five-minute walk The distance of the accommodation really impacts your villain. Wish to go to a class. so picking and choosing your accommodation based on distance also becomes very important.

• I applied to 6 Universities: Queen's University Belfast, University of Glasgow, University of Edinburgh, Newcastle University, University of Leeds and University of Aberdeen. I was Admitted to all the 6 Universities. I received offer letters (admission confirmation) from all the 6 Universities and then I chose Queen's University Belfast. No, my application was successful in each of the 6 colleges that I applied to.
• I chose Queen's University Belfast solely because of it's reaserach excellence. Although all the other colleges also had a significant research output and were a part of Russell's group, I wanted to specifically work on Cancer Biology and Therapeutics. Luckily, I was selected for the same and carried out reasearch related to cancer during my thesis. I wanted to understand the molecular mechanisms of tumor microenvironment and it's therapeutics and Queen's throughly focused on immune responses and gene regulation which matched my research interests.
• The admission process is as follows:
  Entry Requirements:
  1. A 2:1 degree is required in a relevant field. For my course, this would be a background in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or any other relevant field (I did Biotechnology engineering).
  2. English language proficiency is also required for international students (IELTS/TOEFL). Specific details about scores can be found on the website.
• Application Process:
  Online Application: Applications are submitted directly through the QUB online application portal. The process is fairly straightforward and can be done on your own.
  Necessary documents: 1. Academic transcripts
  2. Degree certificate or Provisional Degree certificate (if degree certificate is not available yet).
  3. CV
  4. References (usually two academic or professional references)
  5. Personal statement or Letter of Motivation (I feel this is the most important document for selection).
  6. English language proficiency proof
• Visa Requirements: International students who are accepted to Queen’s will need a Tier 4 or Student Visa to study in the UK.

• If the application is successful, then the University will provide a Conditional offer letter, stating some requirements that you have to meet if you are still completing your Bachelor's or an Unconditional offer letter you meet all the requirements.

• The eligibility criteria depends on the course. For Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, it was 2:1 grade in any Biology related discipline along with an IELTS score greater than 6.0. I recommend going through the details of the specific course in order to find out the correct eligibility criteria, as it differes from course to course.

• The overall admission process was faily smooth. There were college representatives who would guide us with the admission process. Also, the admission team is quite helpful, they will respond to any queries within a day making the application process fast and smooth. The only challenge I faced was regarding the uncondional offer letter: Due to a huge number of applicants in September, there was a slight delay in providing me the uncondional offer letter due to which I faced minor problems with the visa application. Other than that, everything is good! I wish you all the best and good luck with your application!

• I applied for September 2022/ fall 2022 intake. I started applying from December 2021 and received a Condional offer letter in January 2022 as I was still completing my bachelor's. The conditions stated that I have to complete my Bachelor's without failing in any subject and have to obtain the expected grade which I stated in my application form. Received an Uncondional offer letter in August 2022 when I submitted my 8th Semester marsheet and provisional degree certificate.

Many students moved to the mainlands after completion of University to find better jobs. But I do have few friends who found jobs in Belfast and preferred to stay there coz of the low cost of living.

Belfast's cost of living is quiet low compared to the main lands. Qub is ranked 43 and is a Russell league University.

It's upon the student if they study hard and take up opportunities study well. Research is better thn india. But you have to work hard. There would be sleep less nights. Placement would be sketchy . I would advise to do summer internships all the 4 years to land a decent placement. But there is little assurance for landing a good job

For better understanding and results and a better learning experience. Also for exposure and success.

Queens University is located in Belfast,Northern Ireland.It is a good university with world class research facilities.Furthermore the scholarship was a positive incentive.The living cost is belfast is lower than major Uk cities which allowed me to save on some money.As an International student,I wanted to save enough.Business and Management course came with a placement year which was a great thing.It will allow me to gain hands on practical experience while studying.
