What Students Say
Likes
- The overall ambiance of the college is great
- I should personally thank my college for introducing the vending machine.
- You can literally leave whenever you want as different departments have different timings.
Dislikes
- BBA faculty are the worst. For every sem there are different teachers. BBA has high quiltting percentage.
- No time sense. This is a major disadvantage as people who are time sensitive feel threatened. If they say an event starts at 1 dont expect it to actually start. They may start even at 3
- Placements are the worst. They bring only the worst companies here. In my class of 77, hardly 10 got actually placed
Course Curriculum Overview
Unfortunately the curriculum of BBA is a bit different compared to all other courses. The main important subjects are Financial Accounting, Business Laws, Quantitative Aptitude, International Economics and Retail Marketing. There is this one faculty that made the whole class forget everything. Her name is Ruqaiya. She compares dividend policy with gulab jamun, cupcake in road.... it was so hilarious. All our faculties have no idea what to teach at all
Internships Opportunities
The college gives different internship opportunities. For Eg: Goldman Sachs 2-Month internship in Bengaluru offers 30K per month as stipend!!! Another internship is offered by the radio community of our college. It is unpaid though.
Placement Experience
The placement process begins from the third year i.e. the fifth and sixth sem. But be warned the placement is pure dabba. The companies that visited are goldman sachs, pick your trail, venture lts, greenbay, taj, audible, TCS, etc. the package varies from 3.4 LPA to 12 LPA. These are just peanut money btw. The college says there's 100% placements ( joke of the century) but in reality only 70% gets placed. I plan to do MBA from a different college.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for BBA varies from 35,000 to 37,500 (excluding exam fees, bus pass, library fines, development, miscellaneous). The lab & library "development" fees are both 1500. There's also something called as arrear fees & revaluation which costs 200 & 1000 per paper. One advantage of joining the college is that there are lot of financial aid for sport students. Their fees are comparatively cheaper than what normal people will pay. This is ridiculous though as they also need not attend classes. The college does provide scholarship opportunities for low income groups. The people who apply for scholarships should not have a household income of more than 10K per month.
Campus Life
There are different kinds of events in my college. The main events are JHANKAR, ABHILASHA, VISH, SHRINGAR (students cannot go as audience), ect.... the months for these are Dec-Feb, Aug, Oct & Mar. If you make good friends or already have good friends then this college is a jackpot. The events are very limited. There are a lot of scope for sports. Infact the sports students are seen as GODS by the college.
Admission
I applied to colleges like Stella Maris, VIT & then MOP. Unfortunately, Stella doesnt not accept commerce with computer applications. VIT was a bit pricey & far. There are different admission process. For BBA there is shift I &II. For shift I u need business mathematics all though its such a dumb rule. Its better to give a choice to students. The process is comparatively simple. Just apply & if you qualify then pay the fees.
Faculty
For BBA, there are only five faculties for all the years(1,2 &3). All the teachers just keep quitting every semester for no reason at all. Im not sure which faculty i actually like or dislike as they are ever changing. The current faculties actually pass you off with good marks. The worst part is during final year, you cant choose your project mentor. Each sem there are 5-7 papers.
Night Life
Nightlife!!! Oh my area around the college is full of it. There are a lot of cafes, restaurants, malls, hair salons & even airline booking places. My college has no hostel though but there are places around it. The most famous places are the prestigious KNK road, Spencer's Plaza, EA, Ispahani center & a lot more.
Other Applied Colleges
Stella Maris College | Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA]
The college didnt accept Commerce with computer applications
