What Students Say
Likes
- Campus is great, loads of opportunities everywhere, crowd is decent and most of the professors are pretty good.
- Labs and classes are very well furnished, fully AC. Hostels are very clean and pleasant.
- Absolutely zero ragging, seniors are very helpful in most cases. Everyone minds their own business.
Dislikes
- Too hot most of the times, its hard to survive without AC
- Many places to go to, but gets boring pretty quickly
- Its a student-run tow, so you wont be having the experience of the real world, everything is easier here
Course Curriculum Overview
I was always interested in communication, hence chose computer and communication engineering. Course structure felt interesting, especially the labs from second year. So far, I'd say its pretty inclusive of real world applications, first years have to do a variety of labs including mech, civil, computer and electrical. Frequency is managable, just one midsem and one endsem for each semester.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like blackrock has recently took interns from our college. Stipend and roles offered is not sure. Its an I+P internship, meaning they will get turned to full-time for sure. Other several companies also take interns from 3rd year.
Placement Experience
Placements are decent when taking into account that recession is going on, placement percentage is arond 65 percentage across all branches. For Computer raelated branches its more this year (2025), and median for cs branches is around 12LPA. Students are eligible for placements from 7th sem onwards. Highest package is said to be from microsoft(not confirmed officially) with a package of 52 LPA . Took students from CCE.
Fees and Financial Aid
Year wise fees is 4,87,500 Rs (Just for the tuition) For four years tuition fees for my branch (computer and communicatoin) is 19,50,000Rs. For people with scholarships like the ones for economically weaker section, under verified proof fees goes as low as 6-7 Lakhs for four years. For NRIs, fees goes up to 45K dollars for four years.
Campus Life
I believe college life in MIT is one of the best in the country. absolutely no restrictions, you have to be responsible. There are tons of events and fests throughout the year ( revels, techtatva, etc). Library is very vast with almost any study material you can think of. Quite a collection of novels as well. Easily accessible for any college student. Classrooms are equipped with projector, whiteboard, blackboard, podium, AC and a recorder that records classes and posts on a website for us to watch later. Lots of extracurricular activities, raning from student projects and student clubs. Student projects are funded by the college, they make stuff like formula cars, drones, dirt cars, automated cars, rockets, and so on. We win ocassionally on international and national level competitions.
Hostel Facilities
My hostel room is non-attached, non-ac. Great experience. Toilets are very clean. They clean our rooms once every two days, additionally we can request a cleanup. There are other blocks with attached washrooms and AC, those rooms are top tier. Mess food is decent, very clean and hygenic. You will get tired of it after some time but at least its very clean and safe to eat. Lots of varieites thourhgout the week. Hostels are pretty expensive, with the cheapest one being 1.15Lakhs (mess_hostel)
Admission
I chose this college because this was the best option I had among others that I got accepted into. Comparing to others, MIT has much lesser intake and a much better campus life. I made it into all the private colleges that I applied to, but not colleges like NIT and IIT Other colleges I got accepeted into are BITS, VIT, CET, LPU, Thapar. I didnt choose BITS because of the higher fees. Eligibility criteria of MIT is 60 percentage in boards and students have to write MET, our entrance test, there is 50 percentage weightage for boards as well.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is adequate. Each class has around 80-100 students, classes are pretty big and faculties can manage, they are also given a mic piece for taking classes. My maths maam, Harinakshi, was the one who i felt teaches best for me. There is one midsem, one endsem and numerous assignments and quizzes. Course content is not that difficult for most subjects, given you take the effort to study. Everyone studies all the sunjects in first year (its common), from second year you only study content thats relevant to the course you chose.
Night Life
Very very nice nightlife, i couldnt explain it very well. Only restriction is to get in the campus by 11 PM (from second year onwards) and 10 PM for freshers. LOTS of shops, clubs, restaurants, bars, pubs, malls and beaches nearby. Lots of gyms and there are gyms in the campus as well. Hostel intime is 10 30 PM for freshers and 11 30 PM from 2nd year onwards. Its completely safe to roam around at night, even with your gf.
