Course Curriculum Overview
Our curriculum is really good enough as we are provided with all the materials and sources needed to get a good glance over our subjects. Our teachers also teach us the new and updated portions in our syllabus. The curriculum also prepears us to deal with the real world. It's evident because we have reached 14th rank in the NIRF ranking through out India. The difficult levels for the mid term and end term examinations are not too high in the initial years. As it's a 5 years course, first 1year is a bit simpler but from 2nd year it becomes difficult as due to introduction of tough subjects in the curriculum. The teaching is always upto the mark and the students need to be conscious with their studies to get good marks in the exams. The exams are not too tough but are never easy enough.
Internships Opportunities
There are good opportunities for internships as we have a program called LEX CONSELIUM that is held every year where companies are called to give us an introduction about themselves and how they hier students like us and what qualities we must have to sit on a interview. Companies like Infotech, Wipro, etc. come for campusing and hier students. The students are also provided with internships from the placement cell if they are interested every year. The students are also free to choose their own internships and go for them but with proper permission from the head of our placement cell.
Placement Experience
The college has a seperate Placement Cell and the placement cell offers us placements. The students get eligible for placement after the completion of 4th year. There are many companies like Infotech limited, Riseon limited, Wipro limited, etc. they come for placements. The highest package is 55000/- per month that is received in our campus. In our campus 75% of students get admissions per batch. My interest is to continue persuing LLM in this institution after the completion of my BA LLB (H) course.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of my course is of total 2 lakhs that is also increasing per year according to our semesters and subjects. 1 Lakh 10 thousand is our tution fee. Hostel and fooding including meals for 4 time a day that is breakfast, lunch, snacks & dinner is Rs. 86000/-. During admission I had to clear a admission test called SAAT which was conducted for free. But after getting selected I had to pay Rs 10,000/- as admission fee. We also had to pay Rs. 5000/- as caution money for both college and hostel.
Campus Life
We have only one annual fest that is known as JUSTICIA. It's a 3 day event that starts with flash mob. Then we have 2 days of cultural shows. We have Dj nights and theam based dress codes. One day is for ethnic and the next day for formals. It's the biggest culture fest ever of our campus. The library has a lots of books and journals. There are guids and refferences available for students that we can issue to make our study easier. Our all calssrooms are smart rooms with Projecters and black boards installed along with AC at every room. We have a seperate Moot court room that any other college would rarely have. There are a lots of sports activities such as cricket, football, basketball, badminton, kabbadi, relay race etc. in the out door games. The indoor games such as chess table tennis etc. are also played. We also have a online games compilation that is gaming compitition of BGMI that is conducted every year. We have a lots of clubs and societies in the collage such as Dance, Music, Art and crafts, photography (Frames), NSS etc. These are headed by the seniors and the students are free to be a part of all these groups. Students are encouraged a lot for showcasing there talents and also given lots of opportunities to exhibit themselves in all fields as co-caricular activities.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel life is very positive over here. I am a hosteler and I have being here for 4 years. We have a good atmosphere in the hostel. There is no threat of ragging or blackmail in the campus. Rules are very strict upon the seniors. The rooms are available in both 2 beded or 4 beded options. The rooms are available in both AC and non AC according to your choices. The hostel fees is total 86000 for 4 beded Non AC rooms including fooding per year. Hostel bed charges is Rs. 46000/- per year. The fooding charges is Rs. 46000/- per year. There are workers available for daily cleaning of rooms and proper water and electricity supply is provided 24×7. Generators are available on powercuts. The corridors and halls are under CCTV camera surveillance and the hostel authorities are always there for keeping checks upon all activities of hostlers. There is also free wifi facility and has a strong network system. A caution money of Rs 5000 /- is taken during admission. Hostels are alloted during the admissions itself. There are no pre booking system for hostels. There are many PGs also available in locality. The rates of PG rooms can start from approx Rs. 15000/- per month for 1bhk in sharing.
Admission
In my case I found this college to be the best for me because I was finding a good Law college and this College NIRF rank is 14th. The campus when I entered looked very fascinating. The faculties and staffs were very helpful. I was guided by my relatives that this is a good college for persuing law so I applied for this college. I gave the entrance exam of SAAT and was selected in the first list that was out for the selected students. I received a mail for the date of admissions getting opened. Soon I came for my admissions and I got my admissions done. I had to submit all certificates like the school leaving certificate, 10th and 12th boards marksheet, anti-ragging certificate etc. in xerox copies with small size 5 photos of mine. Everything that was required was mentioned in the mail that was sent by the college. I had not visited any other college or institutions but I had received a offer letter from SRM University Punjab for the law course. But its was too far enough for me to travel and go for studies for such a long course of 5 years. So I choose Siksha 'O' Anusandhan collage and I never regreted for my choice.
Faculty
The faculty and student ratio is 1:30. The faculty and student relations are very good. Students are well guided and also sometimes taken personal care by the teachers. Our teachers are humble enough to clear all our doubts rapidly in classes. They also teach students in there prefered language if the students don't understand in english after the classes. The teachers like our Dena sir Dr. SK Azad sir, Srinivas Sir, Prabir Sir, Akash Sir, Sidhartha Sir, are very knowledgeable and skilled teachers in their respective fields of teaching. The female faculties such as Subhasmita mam, Chinmayi mam, Sikriti mam, etc. are some arrogant teachers who think themselves as they are greater personalites and Goddesses of the institution. These teachers are very annoying in nature and always show us their pride to be NLU passouts. But overall we have good male teachers and a few good female teachers like Soumya mam, Krishna Mam, Anvesha Mam and many more. We have semester exams conducted of total 100 marks. 20 marks written known as Mid tearm examination 20 marks internals such as group discussion, project summitions, attendance marks etc. 60 marks written known as end tearm examination
Night Life
There are gyms available outside campus, but the campus has its own livrary, cafeteria, mess for hostlers, ground for playing games etc. The night life is not too active inside the campus. The students are free to enter the campus premises before 9 pm. After 9 pm there are restrictions and if no proper reasons given, the parents of the respective student are called to inform them about the late entry of there child. There are places like Puri and Konark that are the best places for night outs. There are also places like cafes, restaurants, parks, dams, Temples etc to visit, near the camps where students can enjoy being outside the campus. Clubbing is not too close from the campus to go for during nights. There are many more places to visit which have a historical significance like caves of Udaygiri Khandagiri, Dhauli, Mancheswar etc. The camps and it's location is at most best at its safety. There is no threat to the students from local people or any outsiders. Its very safe place.
