Course Curriculum Overview

4

We have two semesters in a year. We have given only six months to complete one semester, and in my view, the six months duration is sufficient to complete the relevant subjects. The difficulty level is moderate. The curriculum for the Bachelor of Commerce in Honours is good, and it provides comprehensive knowledge about current topics and gives the technical skills required to comprehend current issues. One thing I would like to add is the course provides less practical experience and focuses more on theoretical parts. The course provides the best placement package & has specialization in the commerce field which is why I chose this course to pursue in my graduation.

Internships Opportunities

3

The internships are there. There is virtual fest for commerce students every year . In that fest, many companies hire students for virtual internship as well as office internships. The duration of internships generally are six months, three months. The basic roles are offered to students like business development associate, sales & marketing associate, campus ambassador programmes. Mostly startups are there. The companies are ICIC bank, marquee equity, byju's . Our internship cell name is ENCODE.

Placement Experience

2

In the Vth semester, students are eligible for campus placement. There is a procedure for enrollment in the placement cell. The unique number is given to all the students after enrolling in the placement cell. Many big companies visit our college for placements Every year. The big 4, Deloitte, EY, KPMG & McKinsey & Company. Zomato, The Oberoi Group, Delta X, PWC, De Shaw, bain & company and many more. Only 45% of the students are placed every year in our college. The highest package is 18 LPA and the average package is 8 LPA. I do not have plans for a master's right now. I'm currently working in a corporate field.

Fees and Financial Aid

I graduated with a bachelor of commerce in honours from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College University of Delhi. The fee for this college is very low fees as compared to other colleges. Everything is good. My annual fee per year was ?7,430(approx). Some students got fee concessions who have financial problems and are not able to pay the annual fees. And yes, the fees for SC/ST Students are less as compared to general/OBC students. There are many scholarships, like national scholarships and e-district scholarships for SC/ST/OBC Students, but I didn't apply for them.

Campus Life

5

The range of accessibility of books & journals is not good because most books have a very old version, and some books with the latest version are not available in the library. So the overall facility of accessibility of books is not so good, and we have to renew it every week and return the book after 3rd renewal. If we do not renew the book, the fine will be charged. There are many sports & extracurricular activities in the college societies. Some are online and some are physical. There are many great prices. There is no wifi facility in the college, and the classrooms are not air-conditioned. The annual festival of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College is Europhia. There are many annual fests in our college which will be held in March & April.

Admission

I chose this college among other colleges because this college has a very low fee structure as compared to other colleges. My percentage was 90.50%, and now, direct admission was taken. There was no entrance at that time; direct admission took place, so in my percentage, the best college that I was getting was Shaheed Bhagat Singh College( Morning). I first applied to the College of Vocational Studies in 1st cut-off, so my seat was reserved. After that, I was admitted to this college at the next cut-off. The best part is it is best for commerce students and has fewer fees as well as the best college I was getting in my percentage was SBSC.

Faculty

5

The faculty members of the Commerce Department of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College University of Delhi are very good and supportive. First thing, the faculty members are good at providing education. The curriculum provides disciplinary knowledge in the areas of finance, human resource management, marketing, international business, corporate and business laws, accounting and taxation. The curriculum provides research-related skills, critical thinking and information/Digital literacy. Overall The exams are moderated. 20% of students are not able to clear the exams due to negligence and outstation. I didn't know much about the other facilities of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College. But yes, I like the faculty of geography because they provide a good practical experience to students by taking them outside to explore the real terms of their subjects.

Night Life

3

There is no hostel facility in Shaheed Bhagat Singh College; only PG and flat are available. There is no gym, only a cafeteria is there. The food quality of the cafeteria is good. There is a big ground on the campus in which you want to sit there and spend some time with your friends. The girl's common room is there. The famous hangout spots are select Citywalk Mall, Saket, Qutub Minar, Mehrauli, Siri Fort and many more. There are many cafes near the campus. The locality is quiet & safe.

Placement Experience:

After completing 4 semester you are eligible to sit into on-campus placements i.e. after completing your second year. Companies start to arrive in final year or pre final year of you're going for 4 year degree. Big 4 companies like Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PWC and other companies like accenture, zomato, airtel can be seen in placement season. Average package is 4-5 LPA ranging from college to college and depends individual skill set and practical experience. Highest could go upto 22LPA in our college. Half of the students gets placed during the season but not all. After competition of degree students can pursue various courses like CA, CS or praper for CAT/GMAT.

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.
