The curriculum included all the subjects which were important for my career, thats the reason i chose this course. I dont think the curriculum lacks any aspects which was to be used in practical life. As already discussed, the exams were conducted every 6 months and if were consistent during the year, exams were never too difficult.

The core subject's are good they align with the course but I believe that the other 4 subjects are just sheer waste of time sec vac ge they are just there to waste time to relevance with the course I think they should be removed they are just extra burden

In 1 st year there was environmental studies, except that all the subjects we studied was relevant. Students get to choose their respective elective papers after the 1st semester. The curriculum involved various aspects which prepares the students for the real world. We had to prepare and present ppt, involve in social activities, field research for various subjects, etc. All in all, the curriculum was good and it also depends on the student by which subjects they choose. The exams are conducted in the month of may and in december. B.com involves 3 year course with 6 semesters. The exams are somewhat easy and students can easily score around 6 gpa even if they have studied very little.

the curriculum has now changed as now the new education policy is there which is very good now as of earlier one as nep is very helpful and the exams take place 2 times a year for which the semester is divided into 2 semesters so very hefty time is there in order to complete the preparation

financial knowledge and economic knowledge influenced me to choose this course the curriculum was very well prepared for the real - world but there is more need to add some practical examples so that students can easily understand there is need to emprove in accounting section because in today's world the accounting are done in computer or in electronic devices the exam was held in every 6th month and the level of exam was quite tough

The curriculum is very theory based and not practical based. You will have to learn all the formulas on your fingertips although there is no need of it. You have learnt all the practical knowledge in Excel but still you will have to learn it's formulas and write in your paper. Exam takes place twice a year.

The reason I opted for B.Com hons was that it has better placement possibilities and value. The course is preparing us as much as it can for real world applications while the activities other than within the course are necessary to enhance and prepare yourself for the real world applications, like internships, taking part in the societies. I didn't find any point to be improved till now may be there is but I personally didn't find any. The exams take a month from the commencement to the end, as we have 7 subjects where there is 3 core subjects, 1 general elective, 1 Ability enhancement course, 1 Value added course and 1 Skill enhancement course. The difficulty of the exam for the AEC, VAC and SEC are easy while the core subjects and general elective are mostly moderate or hard.

I'm pursuing bcom Hons. And it the one of the best course in du. Also the course is designed very methodically and provide a vast knowledge in different sectors of the commerce. Downside is that tutorial part which was introduced in nep is confusing.
Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) is well known for its commerce courses. It is considered the best commerce college of Delhi University. B.Com is really good here with proper academics and placement records.
Categories | B.Com at SBSC |
Course Fee | INR 23,000 |
Placement Percentage | 80-90% |
Highest CTC | 15 LPA |
Average CTC | 8 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | KPMG, Wipro, JSW, BYJU's etc. |
Therefore SBSC is a really good option for pursuing B.Com Honours.
According to the reviews online, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) is considered to be a better institution than Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC).
Here are some reasons as to why:
Categories | B.Com (Hons.) at SBSC | B.Com (Hons.) at DCAC |
Placement Percentage | 80-90% | 80% |
Highest CTC | 15 LPA | 10-14 LPA |
Average CTC | 8 LPA | 5 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | KPMG, Wipro, JSW, BYJU's etc. | EY, Wipro, TCS, HCL, etc. |
Overall, SBSC is definitely better when compared to DCAC for pursuing a B.Com Honours.
Among the mentioned two colleges, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) will be a better choice for B.Com (Hons.).
Categories | B.Com at SBSC | B.Com at DSC |
Course Fee | INR 23,000 | INR 27,000 |
Placement Percentage | 80-90% | 78% |
Highest CTC | 15 LPA | 20 LPA |
Average CTC | 8 LPA | 4.8 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | KPMG, Wipro, JSW, BYJU's etc. | TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, etc. |
Dyal Singh College (DSC) is good but when compared to SBSC, it is more of a second option for commerce students after SBSC.
Both Gargi and Shaheed Bhagat Singh are well-regarded colleges with equally good reputations. They are located in the same city and even their year of establishment is the same. The faculty pools are great. So choosing one over the now depends more on your preference. If you are serious about your academics and future you can go for the all-girls college, Gargi but if you want a more vibrant college experience, go for SBS.
As a whole, it can be said that Gargi has better placement opportunities while SBS has a tad bit better faculty pool.
Now the choice is yours!
