Course Curriculum Overview

3

My course is BA.HONS (Socual science) Psychology. It included the general psychology till the second year and more specialized in the third year. It is quite similar to the of B.SC Clinical Psychology of others college. The course is relevant while they should update the syllabus. there is regular classes but the frequencies of practical class is unsatisfactory. They complete the practicals in rush like the teach us 2 complete practical in a class with just overview and introduction. They should give proper 6 months to complete a semester but it has been completed in the 3 months.

Fees and Financial Aid

Arya Mahila Post graduate college is affiliated to the banaras hindu university and this college is only for girls. the fee srucutre of affiliated college is higher than the main campus. The anual fee is quite affordable - 11,300 for first and second year and 9400 for the third year. It provide scholarship to the studenets of uttar pradesh and the fee structure is same for all the categories For practical subject we have to pay extra 500 per year which is included in the anual fee structure.

Campus Life

2

There is no diverse crowd, most of the students are from uttar pradesh and varanasi itself. The campus is peaceful and organised. There is anual cultural festival and sports competition in the college. We do not have accessibilty of each areas of library it is restricted to the undergrade sections only. The computer lab has ac and speedy internet connection. there is also a debate society, quiz club and literary society.

Admission

I applied for the faculty of social science of main campus but due to high cutoff I took admission in Arya Mahila Post Graduate College with general category. i also applied for ranchi womens college which was like my backup and i am satisfied with the way of teaching in that college too. I continued this college due to regularity of classes and affiliation to the BHU

Faculty

3

All the faculty members are hihly qualified, knowledgable and higly skilled. They are approachable, friendly and supportive, always helpful to students, provides study materials, most of the new professors and few old faculities are creative yet there is a scope of improvement. They should corrdinate with main campus for the clarity of curriculum and syllabus coverage. There is mid semester exam and end semester exams. The diffulty of Exams depends on the coverage of syllabus and content in the chapters - it includes moderate and difficult question with few alternatives.

Interview Experience

1

The admission is done through CUET-UG/PG exam. The merit list is prepared by Banaras Hindu University. There is no group discussion and interview, a higher merit number required for the main campus followed by other affiliated colleges. We just need to upload document online and before the beginning of session, documents are physically verified in the college itself. The exam has moderate difficculty level and there is negative marking.

Night Life

1

There is no nightlife. there is no incampus hostel and the college is located in the chetganj which is distant from the main campus. this area is like a normal local areas with minimal infrastructure, electricity, and water supply. This area is peacful but not that safe for girls in the night after 10 or 11 pm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is rather relevant and comprehensive, as NEP 2020 is followed in general. It sets us up adequately to make future studies and to apply to a small degree in the real world. Typical exams consist of both internal tests and end-term papers, which are reasonably designed. Enhancements can be introduced in terms of more realistic practices and experience in the industry.

AMU does provide placements, and their highest package is 50 lakhs, while their average package is approximately 5 lakhs. But the placement cell needs to be developed properly to give better placements for the students.

Final year students are eligible for campus placement. However the campus placement doesn't prove very helpful. Few people get placement from B.A courses. Students of B.Com and B.Sc are more likely to get placement.
