Course Curriculum Overview
For the B.Sc. Program the course; it is a general or introductory course for Agriculture. You get the courses from every department. The course curriculum is suitable for preparing you as an agriculturist. A lot of practical and field experience is waiting for you.
Internships Opportunities
The college organizes An internship mela every year, which is optional for 3rd-year students. But in 4th you have to go for a compulsory internship for 4 weeks. The internship is pretty good. You can contact college professors for any good internships. But is mainly related to agriculture.
Placement Experience
4th year students are eligible for placement; if you want placement, college gives you that. Some enough placements for students who wish to, but most students opt out from placement for higher education or govt. Job. But placement gives you a job in NGO, agroproduct, and agriculture field sectors.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fee is around 1 lakh rupees, increasing but not drastically. The total fee includes around 4000 rupees of hostel fees, 40000 tuition fee, 40000 advance mess fee, and other fees like library fees, medical fees, alum fees, etc. These are the fees which will be paid in 4 years equally. Several scholarships exist, such as SC/ST/OBC/EWS. These scholarships are provided by the NSP (National Scholarship Portal), and Another need-based scholarship is provided by the College, which amounts to 40000 a year. The eligibility criteria for College are based on the fact that Family income must be under 2,50,000 rupees/ year. Then, you can fill out the form. You can check the NSP scholarship on the NSP website.
Campus Life
There is an agricultural society, and every year, there is a sports meet organized by the university, in which every college participates. You get to interact with farmers—the library is one of India's most significant.
Hostel Facilities
There is no option for PG. You have to opt in for the hostel. Hostels are OK-O, Kbute not very good or not very bad. Same for hostel mess foo,d it is not very good but more inclined towards the lousy side. For boys, you have a single bedroom from the second year.
Admission
As I said, India's First Agriculture University has a lot of agricultural land and gives you practical, hands-on experience in the field. It has pretty good faculty and a pure agriculture environment. For the Uttarakhand domicile people, it conducts every exam; for another state, you can take the ICAR exam or apply for a paid seat.
Faculty
India's best agriculture teaching faculty is here. Enough Faculty-to-student ratio, only 1 or 2 faculty repeated per section for the entire 4-year course period. There are semester-wise exams. There are two pre-finals, 1 lab final, and one final exam each semester. Every semester has 24 credits. However, the course program is very rigorous. Sometimes, you find it a difficult phase, and the same for faculty. They are fast-phased.
Interview Experience
No, I did not face any GD or interview. It was through the annual exam conducted by the college for Uttarakhand domicile students. In other states, ICAR conducted exams for various universities and courses. The exam pattern comprises PCMB and general agriculture.
Night Life
The nightlife is not very good. It is a closed campus. All the things are run by the college, like a gym, library, etc. Hostels are closed by 10 pm for boys and 7-8 pm for girls. Local food shops at the front of every hostel provide hostel delivery service.
