College Review

Remarks :

The college has various good points such as good infrastructure, focus on studies, discipline, ample opportunities to develop a student mentally and build their personality. But the college lacks things such as playground, working Saturdays, hectic schedule as the classes are from 8:30 to 4:30 with only one hour break in between.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum of every course is provided to the students either through Google group or some other medium and the teacher gives a brief idea to the student as to how all the curriculum will be covered and what chapter or unit takes how much time. Hence it becomes easy for the student to keep a check as to what is going in the subject.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes the college does provide internships to 1st year students and even tried to provide internship to every student possible. The major companies that come for internship are Jaro educations, HDFC bank, Stallion Ltd, Delhi Finance Corporation, Punjab and Sindh bank etc. I was selected in HDFC bank for a period of 2 months and the stipend I received was 5000pm. My overall experience was very good.

Placement Experience :

The placements are average. Even though all the students did get placed but the quality of placement is not too good. For the marketing specialization there are ample opportunities as various companies come for the placement such as Jaro education which gave a package of 7 lakhs and it was the highest package offered to an MBA student. Apart from Jaro there are other companies who come for placements are HDFC bank, Indusind bank, ICICI bank, Mirus solutions, Karvy securities, Mansukh securities, Squareyards etc. The placement opportunities for finance students and HR student was very limited as a result these people were forced to take placements for the sales and marketing profile. But students in marketing department did enjoyed the monopoly.

College Events :

There are various events that are celebrated in the college. One of the reason i like this college is because of the events and the opportunity it provides to student to participate and manage the events. There are various events that are celebrated such as G20 conclave, Quiz competition, Literature festival, Dandiya nights, research paper conclave, Nukkad Natak. There are 2 main fests which are the department fear of management and technical students and the college fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is feasible as compared to other Institutes. Our college fees for MBA is 140,000 per annum. It includes the fees of library books, I card fees, security worth Rs 5000, sports fees etc. The students are not required to pay anything extra apart from the fees.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I'm not aware of any such scholarship or laon facility offer by the college. But one thing I am aware about is that the fee can be paid by the students in installments. Rest scholarship and stuff I've never heard of. Maybe the college provides but I'm not aware of it.

Campus Life :

There are various extra curricular activities that takes place in the college every other day. It ranges from dance, music to sports. For sports the students are required to go to Subash Nagar Sports Complex because the college does not have a play ground.

Hostel Facilities :

There are no facilities for hostels. The infrastructure of the college is good but does not have a hostel and a play ground. The college has a front lawn but lacks play ground facility. Apart from that people who come from far have to take PG's or flats near the College. There are various PG's that are available near the college.

Alumni/Alumna :

The communication networks are very good. The seniors are very helpful and even for any further assistance they're available either through mail, call etc. The alumnis are even called for alumni meet where they all share their experience about work life and provide guidance and advice.

Exam Structure :

There are internal exams and external exams. The internal exams are like class test held in college. But the external exams are conducted in other colleges of IP institute. The datesheet is issued by the GGSIPU and exams are conducted accordingly. But there is often delay in the result declaration.

Admission :

Firstly I had to fill a form of GGSIPU for my course. The form was filled online and a sum amount of 1000 Rs was paid online as a feed of the form. After that the institute issues the date for enterance exam and after giving the enterance exam the institute will publish the result of every student that is every student is given a rank according to their performance in the enterance exam. The institute will issue the college choice form where the candidate can rank the available colleges under IP university according to their preference to take admission. After that the 1st cutoff list is issued where if the candidate falls in that cutoff can go to the particular college and take admission. Similarly other cutoffs are issued unless all the vacant seats in all the colleges get filled.

Faculty :

The faculty is very friendly and helping. Some faculties are too good and professional. Often they provide help to the students not only ki studies but also guides them for any queries related to future, careers, family issues etc. But there are some faculty who are very biased and promote only their favourite students.

Placement Experience:

Final placements start in the month of November. Many MNCs, startups, foreign companies and companies from different sectors visits the campus for summer internships and final placements as well. Placement activities take place in 2 phases. Profiles offered by the companies are at par the positions offered to IIM and other B School graduates. Almost 100% of the students are placed every year. Highest placement goes up to 32 lakhs, the average is 22 lakhs and the median package is 20 lakhs. The figures are almost the same for all the specializations that DMS offers. There are enormous opportunities for students of each specialization. Overall placement scenario at DMS is good.

The industrial exposures with the modern approach toward industry and corporate sector attracted me the most. I was interviewed at 2 levels by the senior faculty of the college itself.

Remarks:

The institute has the one of the best library, where I can find the different books for their studies. But not all books that are issued form the institute is relevant to syllabus so I have to purchase the books. The institute has the online portal that make me comfort in my studies and I can also go for the last year question papers from the portal.
