Course Curriculum Overview
There's a lot of practical exposure that is rarely available in other universities due to lack of farms, Curriculum prepares well for real life scenarios Could be improved if it was more updated but I think it is under the NEP for the recent batches.
Internships Opportunities
Sometimes internship melas are organised, DEFIA programme sends students to France as well for exposure, SIDCUL is close by with a lot of industries so opportunities increase, I internwd with Innovocon for a month with a stipend of 10K
Fees and Financial Aid
Yearly fees is around 1,00,000 including hostel and mess charges, all charges are necessary. Hostel has to be taken by students who aren't locals (of pantnagar campus) no pg ststem is allowed. Scholarships are given to top three meritorious students of each batch, and a lot of scholarships are available for economically weak people. Fee discount is given to children of permanent employees of the university.
Campus Life
A loooot of fests and events happen, YUVA - Vivekanand Swadhyay Mandal Colosseum - a fest College of Technology Rangmanch - University Dramatics Team Adamya - College of Agriculture Fest Navarambh- Sanskritik Chetna parishad And other than this, regular fun fairs, regular competitions by college teams etc Four university teams exist- Dramatics, Literary , Sanskritik Chetna Parishad, and cultural. Other socities at university level are - Vivekananda Swadhyay Mandal, Chetna NGO, entrepreneurship cell All colleges have their own societies additionally Sports teams exist for a lot of sports and our stadium is awesome!!
Admission
I chose this over BHU, because this university has a looooot of farm land, lit of practical exposure is available in all fields of agriculture, be it horticulture or agronomy or vegetable science or ornamental I faced rejection from hau, pau, and iari, I otherwise would have preferred them Two ways to enter like all saus, icar entrance exam (20%seats) or GBPUAT entrance exam
Faculty
I'll go ahead and say faculty student ratio is around 1:5.. they are very approachable, doors always open. Dr. S. K. Kashyap, our dean himself is very open towards students Dr. Birendra Prasad, Dr. Anil Shukla, Dr. Naresh Malik, Dr. Gangwar, Dr. Tyagi, Dr. Anil Kumar, Dr. Ruchira Tewari, Dr. Renu Pandey, Dr. R. P. Maurya and manyy more brilliant professors A lot of exams occur - 2 semester per year, 2 hourlies per semester, 1 lab final per semester, 1 final exam per year, and other than this ppt presentations etc keeps going on throughout the year. There's barely time when there's no exams. Exams aren't hard though, only what is taught. Few students fail. Curriculum is as per ICAR, so it's good and relevant.
Night Life
Gyms available, seperate ones for boys and girls, reasonably equipped. Library is four floors, awesome! No decent cafe, few canteens only. Public areas include a looot of parks. Hostels are separate ffor boys and girls, first year lives in a different hostel from seniors, conditions aren't great in hostels, food is decent. Timings only for girls , in winters 6 and 7 in Summers. You aren't allowed to go outside university campus, but if you do sneak out, metropolis mall is half an away in rudrapur and haldwani is like 45 minutes away. People even take day trips to nainital. Inside hanging out spots include Gandhi park, FLP, satnam, noodle house etc No place (or reason) to roam around at night
