Course Curriculum Overview
PGDM Course gives you practical knowledge and not just theoretical knowledge on contemporary issues in HR, MARKETING, FINANCE, FINTECH, IB, RM etc. It's a holistic development course and you get to learn a lot which influenced me too to take admission and rather than for going for MBA. The curriculum is designed every year to get you industry ready and you will learn a lot with webinars, courses, sessions from industry experts etc. along with your classes and lectures. After completing PGDM if you want to pursue PHD you can always approach the teachers as well for help. Teaching methods vary from faculty to faculty and there is no as such improvements to tell because the faculty asks you everytime if the teaching method opted is right or not and they listen to the feedbacks and also implements them as well in their lectures. Exams are moderate level difficulty and everyone passes, it's not that difficult if you listen well in the lectures. Teachers even provide reference books name which is easily accessible in library. Every 3 months there would be external exams for every trimester, so 6 trimesters are there and subjects decreases as each trimester passes.
Internships Opportunities
I got into FinWise Services Private Limited for Summer internship and it was a great opportunity. Deloitte also came for internship and many startups came for internships, roles offered varied from operations, sales representative, finance intern, marketing intern, hr intern and then after getting into the company you will be segregated for different roles.
Placement Experience
From 4th trimester onwards that if from August onwards after coming back from 3 months summer internships, companies come for placements and students can apply to the companies. The companies that visited campus are DELOITTE, KPMG, ACCENTURE,TCS, RANDSTAD,ICICI,SBI, MOTILAL OSWAL, BAJAJ, ASIAN PAINTS, ADITYA BIRLA, BLACKROCK, GRIDLINES etc. and many more. The highest package of our batch went for 24 lakhs( Oman based company) , average went around- 7-8 lakhs , lowest - 4.5-5 lakhs. Profiles offered- Sales head, operational manager, Deputy branch manager, Junior Analyst, Analyst, HR - talent acquisition team , underwriting team etc. Right now more than 80% of students have gotten placed and rest are in the placement process which will be till April. I have been placed in ICICI LOMBARD for Underwriting and Claims process and will be joining the company soon.
Fees and Financial Aid
The whole fees at my time was Rs. 875000, with 4 installments, first 2 installment in first year total of 400000 (approx) then rest in 2nd year. If you want to opt for hostel then Rs. 110000 was also added to the whole fee, it's not compulsory, you can find pg or flat too at affordable rates in Rohini itself. Right now the fees has been increased to Rs.925000 with same 4 installments. The scholarships are for EWS category and other backward category and amount Rs.12000 per year or per trimester ( not entirely sure about it). Merit needed 60%.
Campus Life
There is only 1 annual fest that is Verve which happens in month of February and the rest are events held by different societies which are run by students and is very active. Library is built in A building with 2 floors with ample amount of journals, books available, you can take 3-4 books at a time and for 15 days. Facilities are all provided - free wifi, smartboards, centralized AC, good lighting, fans etc. are all there. It's very technical sound. Sports is limited since the Campus is small so outdoor games like basketball, cricket etc. have limited space available. Indoor sports room is also there where you can play table tennis, carroms etc. but we do have sports club and sports day as well. All the societies are student run but are overseen by different faculty members assigned. Except for placement cell everything is student handled. These clubs , societies does not hamper your student life, so feel free to sit for interviews of different societies and choose your societies as well.
Admission
I applied for Rajagiri in Kerala and got into it, then was waiting for MHCET but the results kept on getting delayed, then I also got into JIMS, BIMTECH as well but due to budgetary issues and placements the best option was JIMS. I wanted to get into symbiosis but my Snap score wasn't that great. NMAT also my marks were good but not that good for taking admissions in top 3 colleges of narsee munji. The admission process of JIMS is very simple, you just have to apply through their website and pay the application fees, then you will get the mail for documents such as 10th, 12th marksheet, CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT/NMAT/SNAP (whichever is applicable), graduation certificate/degree, work experience certificate(in case), copy of application form and admit card for Campus tour, GD, PI process which happens on 1 day. For those living in Delhi and NCR can go and visit the campus for these process , and for those outside of DELHI NCR can give the process online. Within 2-3 days you will get the mail for the results. Then after few weeks you will have to pay 1st installment fees to secure you seat in that course.
Faculty
Every 5 students in a section gets 1 mentor , we have 3 sections and everyone has different mentors. Faculty to student ratio in a class is 1:60 (per section). Faculty and students relationship is good , faculty are supportive and easily approachable. Best faculties- Dr. Neha Shukla, Dr. Vinod Kumar, Dr. Pratima Daipuria, Vivek Nanda, Dr.Deepti Kakkar, Dr. R.P Rustogi, Dr. Shrajal Gupta, Dr. Amisha Gupta. They know there subjects well and teach very well , are very resourceful. PGDM course has trimester exams, so in every 3 months there would be external exams and moderate level of difficulty of exams are there. The course curriculum changes every year depending on the industry trends and requirements, which makes it even challenging and rewarding at the same time. It makes you industry ready ,flexible, adaptable and you will know how to manage time.
Interview Experience
The topic of my GD was WORK FROM OFFICE VS. WORK FROM HOME . GD's were based on social issues , current affairs , general topics etc. These are not tough to crack but you should have the knowledge of the topics which you can easily learn through internet and newspapers. Interview questions were based on graduation course subjects and about yourself. After the interview itself you will get the result for which course you are selected that is PGDM GENERAL/ IB/ RM. THE other criteria is you CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT test results which makes you eligible for taking admission in JIMS. I prepared by watching YouTube videos , reading newspapers , studying GD topics through internet etc.
Night Life
The campus closed at around 7pm and no one is allowed to enter the campus after that unless you have in campus interviews or placement drives happening in campus then teachers are also present with you late at night. In sector 5 , it's a residential area so as such big cafes are not there but you will find gym and you will find cafes in sector 7 onwards. The college itself offers hostel services and the mess food is also good, variety is there but only with vegetarian options , if you want non veg you have to buy on your own. There is bus provided for hostel students for transportation from college to hostel. In front of our college is Unity Mall, big bazar , Crown Plaza hotel so if you want to roam around then head for Rohini West side. It is pretty safe for you to roam around at night but don't go single handedly please go in groups.
