Course Curriculum Overview

5

The current cusat curriculum is very well relevent , it is way more relevant than KTU's for example they have similar kind of topics but our curriculum i feel it is more depth than theirs. The faculties lets us visit the labs so that we can understand the more practical knowledge about what we are learing and what we are about to learn , i feel this is an aspect which lets us to get a deep understanding of our course.

Internships Opportunities

2

As i am a first semester student of cusat, I have not received any information about the internships offered in cusat but i have heard about companies whoch provide with a small stipend of 5k to 20k to bog companys like ISRO , DRDO and BPCL they provode with a hige stipend and this is all for mechanical engineering students and offcourse for the other department like software will have a larger stipend conpared to mechanical students .

Placement Experience

4

In cusat there are placement bit not for my department which is mechanical , but for all other streams like computer, IT , EEE and EC they all have good campus selections. The placement for mechanical has a gpa of 5.8 which is the average gpa for mechanical students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Well i study in cusat and i am in my first semester and i got into cusat by the category of CGW which is where if your parents are gulf workers you are eligible and for the first sem i jave pai a total of 64220 where tutiin fee is 49800 , library fee is 250 , laboratory fee is 650 , examination fee is 2400 ,miscellaneous fee is 1180 , PTA is 4000 and DDF is 1000 and this fees are for the first semester and then for the second semester is 53910 so yearly it is a total of 118330 the college does provide the scholarships like E grands and some other scholarship where the fees are halfed for people who can't pay the full amount

Campus Life

5

Cusat has many activities and programmes , such as hackathons , workshops , seminars, exhibitions and etc In the first 2 weeks of cusat there were events like song and dance nights, small events for like the new first years which were all fun to attend. There are offcourse there are the famous events such as the arts fest , sports meet and etc. The clubs of mechanical engineering students are all amazing , theu are all top notch clube which have won numerous events.

Admission

I had applied and got into model engineering college for mechanical engineering, but then after the admission process of model , i had gotten into cusat by spot admission. I chose cusat over the other college is due to the more renowned name cause cusat is more well known collge in kerala than all the other ktu colleges . It is its own university and not like other colleges which are only integrated to ktu . When i checked the clubs of cusat (for mech ) it has done many wonders in the competion which ot has participated in .

Faculty

4

The faculties of CUSAT are a very diverse bunch of people there are some really amazing teachers who tales class spectacularly and there are some Teachers who are not that good. For the first semester in cusat there is a total of 3 main exams ofcourse there will be small tests here and there, the main failing subject is chemistry in our department. The curriculum of cusat they all are very relevant with the topics they present to us.

Night Life

3

The nightlife in CUSAT, well there will be people around the cages at night time where everyone just relax and drink some teas it is not that hyper nightlife but a chill one. I am staying in a procate hostel so we don't have any curfews or any timings like that. After the class the most popular place to hangout is the cafe called delight were everyone one has a glass of tea or coffee and just interacting with each other .

The campus placements are decent. getting placed in a big company is more about having the technical and soft skills to pass the interviews. the placement training helps us develop soft skills but the technical skills must be developed ourselves.

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows
