Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose this course because I love art when I was a child and this field is ofcourse called an artistic line. I also loved medical science so it fulfills the both requirements. Here we will be well prepared for our future clinical experience as here lot of cadaveric activity and real patient experience is there. The frequency and timings of exam are good and difficulty level is good. We get to learn more from the practical exams and the vivas. Overall it is a good experience.

Internships Opportunities

4

In internship we work at our hospital only and we are provided around 42000 rupees per month for internship, which is very high than other states so we consider ourselves very lucky. We would get experience the real work during our internship which will counted as our experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

In the 1st year am paying ?131450 total and from 2nd year it's ?121450 per year including all the fees. Here tution fee is around ?37950 this year and from 2nd year it will be ?26000. Mess fee and other miscellaneous for girls is? 52000 per year. Total expenditure will be approx 5lakhs for 4 years and from 5th year there is internship which you will get paid around ?42000. For ST SC or Ews students get stipends of approx 25000 rupees .There is no scholarship or financial aid provided but you can apply by yourself on scholarship portals like IDA synsodyne scholarship, kotak kanya etc.

Campus Life

4

There is one grand annual festival held around the month of August or September. The library is the best library of our state as it have real books not xerox of books. Classroom have virtual board with a projector in which ppt prepared by our professors is shown. Classrooms are air conditioned. There is high scope and opportunities for sports and extracurricular activities by club formation. There are numerous clubs which will keep you refreshed from the stressful classes and all. We have all types of sports club like cricket, basketball, badminton, football etc. There is drama club which is a fantastic club with great senior guidance. Fine art club and literature club also. There is gym which will keep you fit .

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facility is great for girls. We have 3 people sharing room which is enough for us and it have study table and chair too. There shelf for keeping your belongings. You can register for hostel after admission and its rent is 14000 per year. Quality of food in the mess is good but as you know hostel food can never be compared with home food. Menu includes different types of food in different days so it is totally taking care of our nutritional values. Some students are day scholars who are staying nearby.

Admission

I applied for other government MBBS colleges and also in engineering colleges like OUTR bhubabeswar. I joined this college because according to my marks i was not getting any MBBS college and so This was the best option for me because this the only government dental college in our state and which is very prestigious and oldest college. I get here by clearing NEET exams with 49323 rank and cutoff for gen category was 73000. Admission process is to first go to OJEE office and submit your documents verification then to college for proper admission.

Faculty

4

Here we have around 9 faculties for dental subjects and 20 faculties for mbbs subjects which is important for 1st year. Faculty are approachable by virtual means and after class also if you have doubts. I liked our anatomy faculties the most and then dental Anatomy faculties as they are very interactive which help us to gain more and more of it. I sort of didn't understand biochemistry as it is a very theoretical subject needs more efforts by both students and faculties. There are total 3 internal in bds and 1 proff exam. Around 10 students got back last year. Course curriculum is highly relevant as it also covers the other extra important topic also.

Night Life

4

There is gym, cafeteria, library etc but as 1styear we haven't explored much of it but it have good facilities. Hostel in time is 8pm for girls. Inside there is nothing like famous hangout place as this a hospital and nowadays nothing is safe at night if you are alone. There is many places like jobra park and balijatra is a beautiful mela that occurs every year , just 3 to 4 km away from our hostel.

BDS include 4 yrs of curriculum and 1 year compulsory internship. This college prepares us well to face every ups and downs in life. I think more self study time should be given to the students and the college timing should be reduced.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is like if you study dentistry then you are not a dental doctor rather you can also diagnose diseases. The curriculum provides you with much more hand practice and thus you can do any other things which you need in daily chores As far real-world applications are, a dentist can easily do any work bcoz unlike MBBS it focuses on your hand practice like wire straightening and POP mixing and making from moulds Difficulty level of exams is normal, frequency each after 3 months
