Remarks :
Overall the college is new and is progressing towards being great iiit in india. Lots of things can be improved like increasing placement network, recruiting good faculties. once college gets its own campus it will be one of the best iiit in india.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Since IIIT kota is new college, they dont have their own campus and faculties are generally temporary. So the course taught is beginners level. No emphasis on advance course. Exam structure is quite simple. One mid term exam, one end term and rest marks are based on attendence, surprise quiz and presentation.
Placement Experience :
The placement and training cell is very good. Even though college is new the number of students placed and got internship increased exponentially every year. The highest placement got is of about 28L. Internship is provided from company like amazon, adobe, gap. Stipend is average to 25k pm.
College Events :
Every year college celebrate annual day. Flair fiesta is the main event celebrated in college. During flairfiesta many celebrities are invited, various competition are held. IIIT sports tournament is also part of IIIT KOTA. Each year iiit kota participate in this main sports event.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is roughly same as any iit or nit colleges. The fees is lower for sc,st students while for general students fees is in feasible range. One main thing to mention is fees is based on family income i.e if your income is low then your fees will be lower as compared to others.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
College is very helpful for those who need help. IIIT kota provide scholarship to those who have low family income and have secured good cgpa. College also help in getting state level scholarship. Loan facilities are privided by bank which has collaboration with college. So hassle free loan facilities are privided to students.
Campus Life :
Iiit kota actively participate in extracurricular activities. Every year tedx talks are organised in college with the help of mnit college.labs in every department are of good quality. The systems are always up-to-date. Iiit have their own sports team for football, cricket and other games and they have won many gold medals during inter iiit sports event.
Hostel Facilities :
Infrastructure of iiit kota is under process. Currently students stay in mnit college. The hostels in mnit are quite old and generally no renewation is done. The hostels are provided with lan and wifi. Each students have their own separate room from 3rd year onwards. Before that you have to share your with other students.
Alumni/Alumna :
Some seniors are helpful but most of alumni dont want any contact with their Juniors. Alumni meeting is being held every year so that college students can interact with their alumni. Seniors are good in college as they have arranged many a times seminar for their juniors. During placement session senior help their juniors to get better jobs.
Admission :
First clear jee exam rounds and apply to various colleges through online portal. After few days merit list will be announced. Generally 4-5 rounds are there to choose college. You can change your preference in each round. After clearing the merit list, you will be given dates to either join college or wait for another round to clear. If you wish to join then be present on given dates and fill all the necessary forms and thats it. This is how I got enrolled in college.
Faculty :
Even though IIIT KOTA is central government college, the faculty teaching is very poor as compared to other iiit. Many times teachers resign during semester and no faculty is permanent. Beginning of every semester many faculties join as temporary faculty. There are few guest faculty who have done their phd from foreign University.
