Likes
- Really liked the location of the college. 3:1 boy to girl ratio.
- Great club opportunities and events throughout the year.
Dislikes
- Size of the campus is quite small, and is divided in two by a flyover.
- Hostel is not adequet for any year students.
Course Curriculum Overview :
FY subjects are as most colleges have and are easy, though not as relevant, for example there is a biology subject, etc. Exams happen once every 1.5-2 months. SY subjects are more relevant and easily understood and are quite important for further career requirements.
Internships Opportunities :
College has compulsary internships after each year end which you can choose. If you are not able to find one, college will provide one for you. I dont have much knowledge on stipends but i hear they go up to 60k a month
Placement Experience :
Placements are available for 4th year students only and start from 7th semester. Many companies like bajaj come for campus placements with a overall 7 LPA average package. Highest package was 87LPA from the manufacturing branch
Fees and Financial Aid :
Since its a govt. college, Freeship is applicable hence tuition fees is vaivered. In the first year, the total fees some 6500, 5000 of which is the refundible deposit. In the second year, total fees is 750 for the alumni membership.
Campus Life :
COEP has a beautiful campus though small, it has multiple gardens. And what can i say about the clubs. For a college so engaged in academics, it has huge events and hreat club activities around the year.
Hostel Facilities :
Rooms are small and 4 sharing, with a mess for each year, meal quality is above average. I have rented a room in Gokhalenagar which has great connectivity to shivaji nagar if you have a bike or moped.
Admission :
Admission process is quite streamlined and quick. Since i had 98.37 %ile in MHTCET i could choose from any college but to be honest, COEP is the best out of all the Maharashtra govt. colleges apart from some VJTI courses.
Faculty :
1:30 faculty to student ratio. Most faculties of the college are easygoing but some may be strict, depending on your department. There is a mid semester-end semester pattern for exams, and are fairly easy.
Night Life :
For boys, hostel timings are 6:00 to 11:30 and 6:30 to 10:30 for girls. Hostel is not on campus but still library is open 24/7. If you are able to stay out of hostel for the night, pune is a great place to do so because of all the night life.
