Course Curriculum Overview :

I thought in the beginning that agriculture students mostly spend time in learning and practically experiencing all processes involved in agriculture. According to me the curriculum just teaches us about the theory knowledge which we require and we ourselves have to explore and do internships and hands-on trainings to gain experience. Improving the course by doing more practical activities in the field will be very beneficial rather than spending whole 9-5 in classrooms. The exams are set according to our schedule no further changes are required in them.

Placement Experience :

After the 8th semester students that opted for placements can only sir in placements Many companies visit like John deere and other international brands visit and place bright students. Highest from our college collectively was 3Cr annually. And average from my course is 5lakhs per annum after bachelors. Students who get placed are usually very bright having CGPA over 8 My plans after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies persuing ABM.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

My yearly fees is 120000 and after the scholarship it is 90000. Tuition fees seperate is 90000. Registeration/admission fees is 10000 which later gets deducted from the actual semester fees. Hostel fees are charged which is nearly 120000 per year. My batchmates pay a similar amount whereas every student has different scholarship amount so they pay different but quite similar amount. There is an entrance exam on that basis we are given scholarship. Financial aids are given in the name of sports quota and loans are also provided.

Campus Life :

Many festivals are organised in our campus. Sometimes fare can be seen at the time of diwali or Dussehra. Library has a vast variety of books available. Projectors air conditioner fans lights white boards every basic facility is available in classrooms. Almost all sports are available in our campus which are available to participate at University level. And further on a national level. Many students from my university went in the Olympics this year. Vast variety of social clubs groups are there. Students can participate in NCC and other groups, they also provide CGPA benefits as well.

Hostel Facilities :

All facilities like bathroom air conditioner fan light cabinet and table chair are provided. Mess meals are quiet average and have a fixed menu for the whole week. Registeration is done on the university website which often crashes at the time of booking. Locality is not that good for pg or rooms. At night outside campus premises it is very unsafe according to me.

Admission :

I applied to Govind Ballabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT) and I did got admission there but in a different course which was BTech food technology. I choose this college over GBPUAT because I was getting to study agriculture here. Admission process of this college is through an entrance exam in which a student has to score a certain marks after which they are eligible for scholarship implementation. Everyone is eligible here even if they don't pass the scholarship exam they have the option to pay the complete fees and take admission that way.

Faculty :

Luckily the faculty to student ratio is nice where in lecture classes there are 60 students per teacher. In practical classes almost 30-35 students per teacher. The faculties are very approachable and friendly. I really liked our genetics ma'am, she is really sweet and explains every thing very well. Few faculties I did not like due to their too much involvement towards studies as it is also important to maintain student participation in the class rather just speaking about a topic straight for an hour. Talking of exams, there are midterm exams which are completely multiple choice questions and in end semester exams half paper is mcq and half is theory based. Many students fail to clear exams each semester. Whereas the course curriculum is sometimes not related to our field as in teaching mathematics and physics concepts to agricultural students is quiet baseless.

Night Life :

There are several gyms within the campus. Some are expensive while others are quiet affordable. Cafeteria are a big plus to this campus as there are many good cafeterias apart from mess facility. Library is available of multiple floors which can easily accommodate thousand students or more at a time. Hostel timings are 12 at night for boys and for girls it is 8 pm in summers and in winter it is 6.30 pm Hangout places can be parks which are there in campus Yes it is very safe to roam at night because of gaurds present at every corner of the campus.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placements from their final year and should have passed all the subjects. Companies visited are ITC, Adani Wilmar, dhanuka, some startups Highest package offered for the current session was 8lpa to 4 students where the average pay is 3.6 lpa Due to low pay most of the students turn down the job offer and goes on pursuing higher studies. So far, from what I have experienced is that there is cut throat competition in the placements.

Remarks:

After i entered , it was heaven seriously speaking from a small town LPU life for me is no less than a dream life. So here are some DO's and DONTs LPU :- Alwaysintain 75% attendance otherwise you won't be allowed to give your end term examination. 2. Don't get carried away with the crowd , you won't be able to come back to real life. 3. Be as simple as possible so that distractions doesn't over come your focus . 4. Join various Organisations. Here at LPU we have more that 50 Student running organisations , take initiative and be a part in any of these. 5. Weekly , there will be functions , or something or the other so that Students inside the campus are not board , so enjoy them . 6. As i have mentioned before , be choosey to select your friends world is not good my dear . 7. Yes , LPU have more than 3000 CCTVs and security guards are present within 100mt of range , so if you feel anything uncomfortable or someone is trying to disturb or something like that take there help. Security people are really very good.
