What Students Say
Likes
- The campus is very lively and class rooms are well equipped with ACs
- 3 different mess available in the collage campus as well in every academic block (AB) building
- Classes are well maintained and follow good decorum
Dislikes
- Lots of PDA (public display of affection)
- Sometimes AC ventilators doesn't work which causes problems
- Campus is too big and it takes a while to find the right class to go to in different buildings
Course Curriculum Overview
I think some parts of curriculum are outdated but to be honest it is pretty good, pretty relevant. The one thing I liked is first year syllabus is common like other collages but the thing which is different is that there is a wide variety of subjects in first year, we have two cycles namely physics cycle and chemistry cycle, in physics we have MOOC courses like constitution of India and UHV universal human values and one physics subject with 4 credits and one EMM with 4 credits and in chem cycle we have one chem main subject with 4 credits and one electronics subject 4 credits (EEE)
Internships Opportunities
Goldman Sachs, IBM , Amazon Google come for internship but take less students in FAANG companies like 1 or 2 or 3 each. Giving 1.25lakh stipend per month. Rest companies giving roughly 30 to 40 thousand average stipend.
Placement Experience
For campus placements 7th semester required for btech. 12 companies of top fortune 500 visit. Average for 2023 is 9 lakhs for btech but due to recession in 2024 given average is roughly 7 lakhs. Highest 2023 is 95 lakh and 2024 not out yet. Good percentage of students get placed , like 90 percent . My plans after degree do job
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees for btech most branches is 435000 and seat booking charges 10000 and adjusted in that thus making it 445000 for the first year for tuition fees ONLY. Some branches have less fees like mechanical civil but cse related and IT have the same fees mentioned above. Scholarships are available for different use cases such as low income family or sports persons or top ranks in MET or good grades to top 5 students i think
Campus Life
Campus Life is awesome , frequently fests are held like hackathon or some gaming competition etc. social aspects are good and lot of clubs like IEEE IAESTE are there. Non tech clubs too. Annual fest is ONE1ROS. Lots of sports ground available on campus like volleyball 3 courts badminton 1 and tennis 3 big open net courts. Student run apps like Student Adda to order food late night etc. student portal is muj.slcm which is student life cycle management
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is VERY expensive. 1.98 lakh for hostel and mess is 73000 this making around 2.45 lakh for triple sharing and 2.7 lakh for double sharing. Mess is good managed by BlueDove. food is okay ish. Hostel process also simple pay fees online after admission then come offline do formality and take keys. Lots of PG available nearby, from 1.2 lakh to 2.5 lakh (including mess)
Admission
It was the best option I had at that time, admission process is there are two ways to give MET manipal entrance test or direct admission on basis of boards but some students get it only. First u register for MET then give MET phase 1 or 2 or both or either. Then give 10000 for councelling process then fill choices then get a branch alloted and then pay fees in 2 installments within 15 days then admission done completed and other documents formality to be done on SLCM portal and offline. Slcm is student life cycle management portal which shows timetable attendance.
Faculty
Faculty is pretty good we are given a proper course structure which is followed strictly. Mostly there is 1 faculty per class for 70 to 80 students and it is enough . Classes are proper and don't cause any issues . Faculty is reachable no issues all teachers are understanding. I liked Gaurav Sancheti sir, from Civil Department and he teaches EMM ( engineering materials and mechanics). No such faculty I disliked. Exams i don't know yet, exams start soon but here is review from seniors. Exams and followed strictly and 75 percent attendance mandatory or detained from exams
