Presidency University is a killer!!

  • Too much study pressure as it ain't easy to find a single minute for ourselves during the college hours.

Course Curriculum Overview :

BBA was my choice as I wanted to learn management studies and since my mom is a lawyer, she wanted me to pursue law as well. I am glad we have such an integrated course both aspects can be learned. Our curriculum prepared us for real world challenges as how to charge and what to charge is also important in law. The only improvement I want is that the university should make arrangements for special law internships becuase without that the course is meaningless.

Placement Experience :

Placements are good here as when we are in th final semester top law firms from the state which are operational all over India like the DSK, Amarchand, Khaitan and others. All the top legal firms have shown interest in training us for becoming top lawyers. I do feel that one should work in law firms rather than going to corporate directly as experience matters in law practice.

Fees and Financial Aid :

Presidency University is quite cheap as all I have to pay is 150k a year. Students from Karnataka gets 10% scholarship as for outsiders it's 165-170k. SC/ST and other scolharships are also available and that ranges from 25-40%.

Campus Life :

Presidency University may not be the best balanced university but the best thing is that we have events even if not in huge numbers. Apart from annual interview collegiate fest Invincia, we have events like open mic, mindrocks and others where students can have ample fun. Sports wise the university has taken care by creating an indoor students corner which is lavee with top sporting facilities like the badminton court, chess boards and table tennis among others.

Admission :

Presidency University is where most my family members have studied and hence I know the potential that our university holds. Law admissions were based on merit of 12th standard. They didn't took a single student below 80% even though we have such a low batch size the university didn't compromise.

Faculty :

Our batch is the shortest in terms of numbers as only 26 students are pursuing and we have 10-12 faculties. So the ratio is insane as it 1:2. There's no where else on earth where this substrata even exists. The faculties themselves set the paper and mind you if you are attentive in class, you will find exams easy or else you will flunk.

College placements for School of law was not that good till this year till last year 9 cgpa and some good amount of attendance in the entire course was needed for the placement. But this year i think the on placement might get improved as now the eligibility criteria says that you need 5 cgpa minimum for going for on campus placement.

Course Curriculum Overview:

What attracted me to join this college is mainly their different law committee and competition relating to that. The notes and the curriculum are apt and will help to tackle down the real world problems by completing this course. The exams are 3 hours long and the question paper are all difficult as it is a really vast subjects.

No campus placement is offered in our college. After pursuing LLB degree one may start to practice law as a junior advocate in any firm or he/she may join as a legal advisor of any company after obtaining required practice in his profession or He/ She can get prepared for judicial exams.

Admission:

I appeared the CLAT exam, which is an entrance exam for taking admission in the law colleges. Moreover I had secured good marks in my 12th boards for which after my application was received by the college, they selected me for admission.

Placement Experience:

All students have to look outside to get the job. Many of my classmates were struggled to get the job after completion of course. No figures to say when there was no campus placements. I heard that few companies came for placements but all were call centre companies.
