Dislikes
- Infrastructure is not that good as it is not in one building itself. Interior department classes are in A block which is in different building and fashion department classes are in B block and CAD lab is there in different place nearby.
- They should provide more internship from early semester .
- Some people get more opportunities than other. Like If you are in Council group who handles all the events you will get more opportunities.
Course Curriculum Overview
Illustrations and sewing I use to like from my school days . Making garments from scratch . After reading reviews and enquiring about this college this is the only college I found which is quite affordable and has good curriculum and reviews. We are learning stitching , Adobe photoshop and illustrator, about textiles, embroidery , entrepreneurship, market, brands etc which is going to help us in industry as well as our own startup if you are planning to do after degree. We need a little more practical experience of industry to provide from college. Timings of exams are fine and easy to pass.
Internships Opportunities
There is very less internship opportunity they have given till 5th semester to some students who are really active not in any company but some fashion shows like bangalore fashion week , forum fashion week ,lulu fashion week. Most of them are unpaid certification internships. There we are suppose to work in backstage by helping models , with events department, with merchandising , media and different teams.
Placement Experience
College provide placements to only final year students that is one demerit I feel. They should have provide placements from early semester. Placements are not really great. Some good companies and mostly normal companies do provide placements but the pay is really low. Very few people gets placement with good package. Highest package is 3.5 LPA . My plan after degree is to apply for my preferable companies and fashion brand with whom I want to work. Prepare a very nice and effective portfolio of myself and not relying on college placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
This is 3 years degree course. I have paid 2.5 lakhs per year i.e is total 7.5 lakhs for whole course. 2.5 lakhs per year is including tuition fees and all . Registration fees is 1500 .You can apply online or offline. You have to pay full amount there is no reservation here as per caste. All the students are paying same amount. There is no scholarship or financial aid from college.
Campus Life
There are alot of events happens now and then. Every month there will be some events like festival celebratiom like Christmas , dandiya night , kannada rajotsava, onam etc. also fashion show volunteering opportunities there provide to some active students. Sports event also happens annually. Jd got talent happens annually. There are different committees like cultural group , sports group , council group etc.
Admission
I did apply for pearl accademy college . After completing my 12th I was searching for some good design college in Bangalore at the same time it should be little affordable. Pearl accademy is really expensive comparatively and review was also not so great of pearl academy Bangalore. You can directly take admission offline or online. There is no exnteani exam or interview before taking admission.
Faculty
There are enough facilities for the students to teach. Facilities of all the subjects are always available. They are very friendly with students and we can talk to them without any hesitation . Srinivasa sir is one of my favourite mentor. He is our class mentor and textile teacher. He listens to all our problems we are facing and quickly takes action accordingly without any delay. He is very punctual and teaches very nicely. All the mentors are nice but some mentors don't teach properly sometimes or there classes are really boring, specially theory classes. Kiran mam is a theory teacher and her teaching style is really boring and makes you feel sleepy. Exams happens at the end of the semester i.e once in 6 months. If you read one day before exam you can easily pass . And for practicals just focus on classes and complete all the assignments, then study at last moment will not be much needed. Course curriculum is mostly relevant and keeps updating as per industrial requirements.
