Course Curriculum Overview

It is very outdated. The curriculum is useless. We students work on projects on our own. There is no updated content or lab works. We spent our lab hours on YouTube or useless observation works which we repeat for record

Internship opportunities are vast. Including abroad and local interships.the college supports internships from other sources as well. They give early training and for application for various internships

Placement Experience

The placement opportunities are vast. The college is very placement oriented and put a lot of work into making sure all students are placed. They provide very good training as well and mock interviews

Fees and Financial Aid

The exact feeling I am currently paying for CSE is 1.25 lakhs and another 1 lakh for hostel. Overall accounting to 2.25 lakhs per year. The fee structure is justified for the facilities provided. Also the fee structure is hiked every year by 10k. So for someone joining Vel Tech in 2026 can expect college fee to be around 1.7 lakhs/year.

Campus Life

Campus life is very monotonous with very little fun activities and no social life. It feels like a jail. And it's pretty far from city which makes enjoying chennai night life a rare event. Overall depressing

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is really good for the money we pay. All major facilities are available and are well maintained. Hostels are boring but facilities. It isvery far from college as well which makes us lazy to attend classes

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

Main reason was internship and placement opportunities. The college receives a lot of companies and they provide abroad interships as well which attract lot of students. My batchmates have successfully went on interships abroad.

Faculty

Faculties are very average.they just read out of ppts and are very arrogant. I struggle to sit in class listening to their broken English. The fee we pay don't feel worth it because of this. Education wise college is bad

DRNGPIT is a tough gig to survive!!

Navigating the Journey : A comprehensive Review of College Life and Learning

I applied to college like VIT and manipal but chose this one for its affordable fees,strong placement records and industry relevant curiculam.while I recieved confirmed admissions from both VIT and this college,I chose this due to its smaller class size anf better faculty student interaction.I didn't make it to manipal as I could not clear their higher cutoff in entrance exam.The admission process here involved an their own entrance test for giving scholar ship and also they will consider 12th score for scholarship if you haven't written their entrance test and the cutoffs were competittive but manageable.Overall the process was smooth and well organized...Read More
