- The university is great on an overall basis. As it has all the essentials for the students. It has labs, stationary, food joints, other various sports facilities like basketball court, football court, badminton court, volleyball court etc.
- The faculty is really supportive and friendly. They are always ready to help the students. And the placements are also good, considering that the students maintain a minimum CGPA for the eligibility.
Dislikes
- There is no such thing which I would dislike. But, I think I would mention is that, you don't get enough free hours between the classes.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is well planned beforehand. For each semester, there are changes done according to the developments takingg place in the particular course/field. The curriculum includes various assigments and real life activities which enable students to the practicality of the field. Like in my curriculum, we have various moot courts and activities like the real courts because we students get the exposure as to the real procedure and functioning of the system. Definitely, law subjects are not easy and you need constant effort to stay on track. I cannot say that the exams are very easy because, as it is a law subject, you have to write more. Sometimes, during your mid-term you might feel there is lack of time but you must be able to manage the time keeping that you have to answer all the given questions.
Placement Experience :
The placements are quite good. Because, top companies do come and select the students provided that they have to maintain a miminum CGPA and after the interviews they are selected. In the law, the average package ranges from 3 Lakhs and the maximum goes beyond 13 Lakhs. In the third year, the students are required to elect their baskets. The students who have chosen corporate law basket get placed more. Other baskets are also good and the placements are better for them as well. But, the opportunities in the corporate field are more.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For the course BA LLB(Hons.), the fee is 1,40,000/- per year. The tution fee is 35,000/- and the annual fee is 1,05,000/-. A student can pay this in two terms, 70,000/- per semester. The registration fee is 25,000/- and the admission is fee is 1000/-. For the other law courses, BBA LLB(Hons.) and B.COM LLB(Hons.), the fee is 1,50,000/- and 1,10,000 respectively. Yes, the college does provide scholarship for the students who have a greater or merit percentile. The scholarship can go up to 40,000/-. Thre are national and state scholarships also. The eligible students can avail these as well. Although it is generally for the students belonging to SC or ST.
Campus Life :
The campus life is really amazing. Apart from the studies, various fests and events are organised in which the students can participate. During fests, celebrities are called. Students from other universities also come to these events. The events are usually free for the students belonging to Presidency University. The collection of books is vast. The university has two libraries. The law department has a separate library. There are various collection of books including novels, fictions, non-fictions, literature etc. The university also provides various websites which can be accessed like, Jstor, Manupatra and more. Coming to the sports facilities, the university offers various sports like basketball, football, cricket, volleyball, badminton etc. The students can utilize them whenever they want. And the university also teams up with other universities for various competitions. And most imporatantly, the university has variety of food joints. Apart from these, the college also has various clubs in which you can be a member. Being a part of these clubs can be more helpful for the students in their future as they can add them in their resume.
Admission :
I chose this college because, it was better in all aspects compared to other universities. It was not my first choice, but considering various aspects, the college fits the best. I had applied to two more colleges as well, in which I got selected but due to transportation and other factors, I decided that this college is better. The college has two rounds of admission process where firstly, you have to give the entrance exam and then if you are qualified, you will have to give the interview. And based on these you are given admission. The CLAT score is accepted by the college. And for engineering courses, the CET score is looked.
Faculty :
The faculty in the university is very encouraging and supportive. They come up with new ideas to engage the students. The teachings are more of classroom discussion so, it is not just a one way perspective but a two way perspective. The teachers are very helpful as you can approach them anytime and they are ready to guide you. So far, I have liked all my faculties and I have not disliked any because each teacher has his own way of teaching and so far, all the teachers have done their best, not just in subject but whenever I approached them for any reason, they guided me in the correct way. So, the university has two kinds of examinations. The first one is the mid-term which is for 50 marks and the end-term is for 100 marks. And the assigments and internals are for 50 marks too. The total is of 200 marks for which the mid-term and the internals weightage is 25 each and the end-term is 50 percent. Generally, the exams are not very tough and mostly, the students get good marks. Although we cannot say that the exams are quite easy too. A student must get 80 out of 200 for him to pass the particular subject.
