- The college has a lot of societies, which cater to different aspects, and let's one choose what they want to pursue.
- the campus is quite modern and has a lot of places to eat, plus it is fully air-conditioned.
Dislikes
- the girls to boys ratio, in college is really bad, CS and Biotech have the best ratio, otherwise there are less than 5 girls in a class of 60-70 students.
- The location is really far off on the edge of Delhi, plus the area over there isn't that safe.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is really upto date, it was recently updated in 2023, and it has been made more branch specific and industry focused, with CBCS, it has provided students a great flexibility of choosing topics of their own interest, the college always major and minor degrees, in the same department or any other. the frequency of examination is every one and a half month, which in my opinion can be too hectic for some students and they sometimes tend to be hard, while some subjects are easy and can be done with studying the night prior.
Internships Opportunities :
Multiple Companies offer internships in our college for example Zomato offered an internal for a software engineer at 60k per month stipend zerodha offered a 6 month internship with a PPO for 40k a month
Placement Experience :
The placements are really good for a college like DTU, situated at close proximity to industry hubs like Noida and Gurgaon, Last Season the college placed about 70% of its students with an average of 14 lakhs. and highest of 82.5 lakhs. students from 5th semesters are eligible for Training and placement, with fifth semester getting placed for internships, while 7th semester kids, are eligible to sit for the FTE roles and etc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
When it comes to the fees at Delhi Technological University (DTU), they do change a bit every year, but here’s a rough breakdown based on what I and my batchmates are paying: Year-wise Fees In the first year, I had to pay a total of about ?2,36,700. This included: Tuition Fee: ?1,55,000 Student Welfare Fee: ?20,000 Facilities and service Charges : ?36,000 Economically Weaker Section Fund: ?10,000 Examination Fee : ?15,000 DTU Medical Fee : ?700 then, every subsequent year there is a slight increase about 10% in the fees so, for the first year it is : 2,36,700 second year: 2,46,700 third year : 2,66,700 and the forth year : 2,86,700 also, there are few scholarships available like the Dell aspire scholars, DTUs own scholarship for kids with family income under 4.5 lakhs and various scholarships by Delhi Government and NSP
Campus Life :
The college has multiple fests, it is often dubbed as a college, where there is a something every two weeks. The main fests of college are, Aarambh (freshers), Yuvaan (Film and literature fest) in October, Engifest (one of the largest in north india), and Invictus (tech fest of the college) among many others, like sonedo (garba and dandiya) aarohan, sports fest, etc. the clubs and societies in this college are quite active, you'll always find some club of the other, doing something in the college, whether it's Vibe practicing their dance routines, or UAS DTU testing their drones. The Campus has a really huge sports ground, and has its own sports team, they have trails regularly. and participate in a lot of competitions. it also has a gymnasium.
Admission :
I honestly, just applied to two counselings JoSSA and JAC in JoSSA I was not alloted any college, from my preference list, but in JAC I was alloted DTU Delhi, on the basis of my JEE mains score. The admission process in DTU is quite straightforward, you register for JAC Delhi with your JEE mains score, and the cutoffs for general could range from 4k to 50k depending on the branch.
Faculty :
as I'm a first year, i still don't have a lot of insights on the faculty. but the faculty to student ratio is quite good, in my department of electrical engineering the ratio. comes around 8:1, which i would consider a really good ratio. about grading, the college follows classwise relative grading patterns exams are held semester wise, each semester holding a mid term and an end term.
