- VIPS provides a very comprehensive syllabus which gives equal emphasis to subjects of BA and that of LLB too. It also gives special emphasis to subjects like Sociology etc which helps you if you're preparing for any competitive exams
- The faculty here is top notch. All the professors are either PHd holders or are pursuing higher studies from one or the other prestigious colleges and universities.
Dislikes
- The campus doesn't provide hostel facilities for outsiders.
- There's almost 70% reservation for students belonging from Delhi.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The exams are not very frequent. In a semester there's only one mid semester exam and then there is finals. The curriculum is very much up to date and suits the needs of everyone. Especially if you are looking to sit in competitive exam the syllabus best suits your needs.
Internships Opportunities :
There are several opportunities available for students looking to get an internship. College itself places several students in internship with senior advocates at the Higher courts. The college also has its own Internship cell dedicated to getting internships to students.
Placement Experience :
Mostly 100% of students gets placed. To be exact 15% pursue higher studies and the rest 85% are placed either in good firms such as Surana & Surana etc. Also several students start practising on their own with senior advocates in the Supreme Court and lower courts.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For the first year the fee is higher due to extra demands such as admission fee, security etc. The annual fee for the 2027 batch i.e. my batch is 1, 14, 000 INR, and it's increased for each of the successive batches. For eg: The fee for each successive batch was increased by almost 2-8k.
Campus Life :
As VIPS inculcates several courses and departments such as journalism, engineering etc. There are several fests which are held on grand level majorly in between the month of August- December. Each department has its own fest where people from all departments can participate. There are several centralized societies such as NSS, NCC, Enactus, Gender Champions etc which promote different kinds of work.
Admission :
I applied for several colleges. I gave CLAT and AILET, in both of which I wasn't able to get a great rank which could ensure me a good NLU. I also wrote exams for Panjab University, Army Institute Mohali etc which I cleared but I found that this college was best suited to my demands as it provides good exposure to you and also is at a very accessible place where you can find future guidance very easily.
Faculty :
The favulty members are really great. You get to see Phd scholars everywhere. There several professors who are availing for higher studies. The syllabus is very much relevant and updated to suit rising needs, this helps us further grow.
Other Applied Colleges
Panjab University - [PU] | Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Laws [B.A.L.L.B.]
I didn't opt for Panjab University because there is too much indulgence in politics and student unions there, deviating students from other career opportunities.
