- The campus is considerably larger in comparision to other universities in dehradun. The green cover is appreciable and the campus is overall very clean and well managed for a state university.
- The teaching faculty are great at what they do. The professors are mainly guest faculty or research scholars from acclaimed or atleast well known institutions.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course follows the NEP so it make Suresh to cover all essential topics, the early sem could be rather tedious due to beginning with basic topics but they advance in the level of complexity as time goes on.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship opportunities for the B.Tech course are hard to determine currently as the course itself is a new one for the institute. The college does have talks going about a placement and incubation cell at the moment but the talks are nothing more than a rumour at the moment of writing.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The course fees ranges around 3.5 lakh to 4.5 lakh in accordance to whether the student belongs to a category. Being a govt. Institute, Doon University is comparatively affordable to other universities in Uttarakhand. Semester fees initially is 50k for general category, but decreases by around 5k from second semester onwards. Scholarship system supposedly does exist, but I have yet to see it being implemented this year.
Campus Life :
There are numerous clubs any student can take part in, ranging from sports to literary clubs to even drama clubs. The clubs are active throughout the year with an exception of exam time. The clubs will also actively invite the participants to go for inter college fests and competitions. The campus life is average as there is not much to do around unless you wish to play sports or read. The library system is extremely great considering the institution it is situated in.
Admission :
The course I was admitted to requires JEE MAIN percentile, as I did not qualify for any other central university I decided to go with Doon university as it is a state university. The college also focuses a lot in preparing for GATE so that can be considered a pro if you wish to go for M.Tech at any higher graded institutions.
Faculty :
The college follows the NEP system and thus the end of semester paper are created with respect to it. The college has mid sems every 3 months with questions usually being the ones discussed in previous classes ( or atleast similar). There is a minimum attendance policy of 75%.
