Dislikes

  • The website of school of open learning really need to upgrade their software, as the technology increasing they should also cop up with that advancement.
  • The online classes are really poor qualities you cannot able to study from them, also teachers lags most of the time so its best just go to your align centres or study from any other paid coachings.

Course Curriculum Overview :

In my humble opinion, i didnt choose this course for following my passion, it's just i want a graduation degree for my future career that's why i am pursing b.com, and beside this, you will also need to do master degree if you want to be on edge from others. The course is good after the New Education Policy, the department have amend so many subjects and procedure in every courses for student growth, but i don't think addind more subjects will help student for there future degree so you need to choose a master degree after your UG course completion.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Hi I am Abhishek, I am 19 years old and pursuing my B.Com degree from School of Open Learning at Delhi University. The fees structure according to SOL, it is divided into 3 installments which we need to submit every year. On my first year of College i paid the amount of Rs 7,200 which includes all the fees like admssion fee, registration fees and books fees. On my second it increase upto Rs 8,000 which is more than the previous fee which i paid on my first year. Now for my 3rd year the fees will also increase upto 9,000. I don't have any friends who need other categories certificate to get in the college. So i cannot provide you a proper answer on that topic. School of open learning does not provide any type of scholarship if you are from General Category, and even if they i don't think i will get any of penny from it.... This is the honest answer i can give you for this question.

Campus Life :

A SOL student do not have a permanent campus where he need to go for reporting or attedance, he get different campus every time at the time of exams, but yeah you can visit libraries and other places of Delhi University, they organise so many events for SOL students too so that you will get some enjoyment during your course. Even though i never attend any event i can tell you its really enjoyable.

Admission :

If i want any college then i choose SRCC or Hansraj, i just never try to join any college as i am CA aspirant so i choose this school of open learning for save my time. Beside you can do a part time job while doing your graduation degree from SOL, or you can learn some skills for your future growth.

Faculty :

As i said earlier, i didnt attend any classes from School of Open Learning by myself but i hear from few of friends who go there on regular basis. They said most of the faculties are good and provide a proper guidance to students. About online classes i will not suggest you to take it as it really not worth for your time, there be chance they will upgrade there online mode of teaching but for now it better to buy a paid coaching classes or study by yourself.

Curriculum was to the point. Everything was explained nicely in books provided to us and faculty, teachers were very good. They were passionate about their job . I personally had no problems with timings or frequency of exams. I can't comment on areas of improvement either.

Since I studied commerce I wanted to pursue either bcom hons or bcom program. I would say it's 6/10 in terms of real world applications of the curriculum. More practical knowledge should be given. I would say exam were hard but timing was okay.
