Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum is heavily influenced by agriculture as It is a agriculture university. It has wide applied knowledge. My course was industrial microbiology which include W projects, university sponsored industrial visit, Seminar, workshops which helped in enriching practical knowledge and I would give a perfect 10 in teaching merhods. Well prepared presentation of respective subjects are prepared by teachers along practical session of all practical subjects. University has Semester exam which is great way test your learning. Exams had 3 portion where Section A comprises of multiple choices questions. Section B comprises of short Questions and Section C comprises of Value based questions along with tricky and long question making overall level of exam on 8/10. The biggest drawback of university is administration which is always in news for bad reason due to which reputation of university is hampered and impacted the placement and admissions heavily post covid.

Internships Opportunities :

University usually do not offer any internship although we had projects for our last semester where Ihad researched on Enzymatic action of microbiology on soil. Since It is a agriculture university so most of the research revolve around agriculture

Placement Experience :

The college placement is near to zero except BSc Ag. There are few companies like HCL, Amul, Tata, accenture that came for placements but rarely anybody got placements. Usually the avg package of college placement is 2 Lakhs/ annum and Highest being 6 lakh offered by HCL for CS stream in 2022. Approximately 20% gets placed in college during placement drive. I didn't opt for placement as I wanted to pursue my MSc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The yearly fee structure includes : Tuition fee- 35000 Rs, Examination fee 3500, Misc charges 750. Security money of 10000 Rs is deposited at the time of admission and is refundable after passing out. One time admission fee of 5000 Rs is also charged at the time of admission. After first semester these charges are excluded and students hae to pay Tuition fee and exam fee.

Campus Life :

SHUATS is heavily influenced by Christianity since it is a minority university and experience in campus is great. University organize variuos festivals like AAGAAZ , freshers and farewell, concerts during VC's birthday. It is located in naini which is outskirts of prayagraj but the neighbouring area is fully developed where one can find all kind of modern amenities. University also organise sport week where teachers and student participate and it is very great experience. There are many clubs near shuats where students enjoy partying. Although since university follow 75% attendance rule strictly so students has to ensure that their focus remain on studies. University has a central library along with departmental library in every college and one can find all the books of need. Overall campus activities is great experience especially for frshers is of great endeavour.

Hostel Facilities :

The university has 3 kind of hostels of boys and girls. Old hostel ( exclusive for New students), New Hostel and International hostel. Cindition of New and International gostel is better than OH but one should have experience of OH as It helps to vuild great memories with your friends.Hygiene condition is okay in all hostels. One can also opt for PG, hostel or flats in neighbouring area of Khan chauraha, mahewa and Gangotrinagar. Hostel mess is great in SHUATS and serves both veg and non veg that too with affordable pricing approx 3500 Rs. Food is usually tasty especially the non veg is better than veg section. Student can opt for hostel by paying hostel fee and security deposit. Hostel fee is around 25k approx to 35 k ( International hostel).

Admission :

The admissions process is very smooth. University helds a nation wide exams in various streams where admissions is usually easy due to lack of competition although BSC Ag and Horticulture is in huge demand and may involve competition. Entrance exam is usually easy and involve basic 11-12 knowledge of your stream. I had Applied for BHU but could not get through it due to high merit. Students easily gets admissions in 90% of courses with exception of Agriculture stream where students from Bihar and neighboring states still prefer SHUATS for agriculture. Admissions process is smooth and once entrance is cleared then you will be asked to come and complete your admission procedure by submitting documents and fee.

Faculty :

The student to faculty ratio is very well managed. faculty is very approachable and one can directly contact professors in case of doubt or career counselling. In my department of microbiology all teachers were great and had very student friendly approach. Conditions of laboratory is very good and equipments are in working condition. Although due to irregularities in teachers posting lead to lot of trouble lately and many teachers were suspended due to foul play. University has exam cell that conduct fair and free exam. Exam pattern is based on Internals and semester exam. Paper quality is good and comprises of avg and value based questions with practical knowledge. Course curriculum is well designed and in accordance with New education policy. The curriculum is recently updated and attract practical applications which helps during placement.
