Remarks :
It is an average college with both goods and bads. One should look at all the aspects carefully and then make their decision. If you are looking for a college for a degree and simultaneously prepare for something else then this college provides ample of time.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The teaching staff is good in my department but then it varies from department to department. Although, they lack in giving practical knowledge to students as they have very limited equipments and in that too most of them don't work. But they do compulsories industrial training which has to be arranged by the students themselves, that is helpful to gain practical knowledge.
Placement Experience :
The reputation of this college is below average in industries (according to what we have experienced during any of our interviews or industrial training). An average of 3-4 students from each department got on-campus placement in previous years, and this year the number reduced to zero placement till now. Only two companies visited for my course yet and one of them came for the job profile that no one wished to join.
College Events :
The college organises a very few events like University Day, Alumni meet. Other fests are organised by students themselves through societies or committees. Participation is not huge yet but constant efforts are being made for its betterment. We literally crave for such events.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Honestly, this much fees is not worth what this college serves. Lack of faculties, lack of proper laboratory, etc, nothing is worth this money. Many private colleges provide better goodwill, better facilities, better college events, better laboratories, better placements in almost the same fees. But as per what we have been informed, plans are being made for better laboratories at least. So we are looking forward to it. Hope for the best.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I availed educational loan from the bank, not from the college. The scholarship is provided to students, but only on the basis of their financial status. But the sad part is, many wells to do families avail this facility through "source".
Campus Life :
Campus life is a nice, nice green environment, spacious campus, air-conditioned library, etc. Canteens are not that up to the mark. Competitions and other events are organised by student unions frequently. The gender ratio is acceptable, the campus is quite diverse as well. Dorm parties are organised if students take up the responsibility themselves. There is no place for ragging and politics on our campus.
Hostel Facilities :
First of all, I want to clarify that the amount of hostel fees that I have mentioned varies from different sections of the hostel. This one is for 3-occupancy with common bathroom and air-conditioner. Hostel facilities are not up to the mark, washrooms are not good, the rooms are very small. Having said that, there is a new hostel which was recently constructed, facilities are good in that one and the price is less as it doesn't have AC.
Alumni/Alumna :
Alumni of our college are good and helpful, we have various WhatsApp groups that connect current students with alumni. They keep guiding us well.
Admission :
Getting into this college was an impulsive decision for me. I got to know about it from my father's colleagues, I filled the form, appeared in the entrance exam, cleared it and then got admission through counselling. Getting admission in this college is quite easy but getting your desired course is completely merit-based unless you don't have "sources" here, which is quite common especially among localities.
Faculty :
The lecturers are good in my department but this varies from department to department. But the number of lecturers is less in accordance with the number of subjects taught. Some lecturers are good at their subject but they are given subjects that they have the least knowledge about just because of the lack in number. Their average age is around 40. They hold relevant expertise, certification or knowledge.
