  • The distance of hostel to the labs is too much .
  • Mess normally makes the same food daily which makes us bored from eating food. Also there are no evening snacks available here.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course is highly relevant. In the first year they teaches about almost all of the branches. For mechanical engineering they have workshops that are interesting and lectures too(it feels boring). They could reduce the lecture classes and increase the practical classes. Difficuilty level is high and exams are generally in every 2 weeks.

Internships Opportunities :

At the end of 2nd year they take 90000 rupees and provide a mandatory intership in the summer vacations (generally online). After that in third year there is another intership for 6 months in which the student gets paid. Many companies like google , amazon, mercedes , etc are there for interships.

Placement Experience :

Placements ratio for mechanical branch is almost 100% with average of 16 lakh per annum ctc. The students are eligible in end of 4th year for on campus placements. However interships are done in 2nd and 3rd year which are mandatory. If not recieving a on campus placement i will be going in finance or tech field off campus.highest package last year was around 54lakh per annum . The placements data is not officially revealed by bits

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Year wise fees is 690000. Tution fees of bits is 540000 , hostel and mess fees is 40000 each . There are two scholarship criteria , merit cum need and only merit based. MCN is for students whose parents have ITR less than 15lakh. To avail it generally the cgpa cutoff is 8.5 or above . For merit based top 1% students gets 100% schlorship. Fees for students in cse and are in top1% is neigible as compared to the rest, its around 40000 per year.

Campus Life :

My overall experience is good here. The campus is beautiful , i usually go for an evening walk with my friends and there is a lot of greenery here. The events here are OASIS,APOGEE . APOGEE is on 18sept to 22sept . Oasis date is not revealed but it is nearly around 23 oct to 27 oct.there are 2lakhs books here

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are generally good. Lights , table, chair , bed , almira are provided in room.meal quality is good and hygeine is maintained.hostel is provided on first day of opening of college. Hostel are Affordable. Locality is behind the bits workshop which is known as SR bhawan

Admission :

I was getting IIT Dhanbad which is undoubtly a good college. But the branch i was getting was environmental engineering and i didn't find furthur scope in that branch . Also bits pilani is rated with the top 7 IITS and branch mechanical also suits me so i choose Bits pilani over IIT dhanbad. In my last stages of preparation i lost my focus from studies and couldn't make to top 7 IITS. Admission process is simple it just like you need to register on website and fill the desired choices according to your marks and then just wait for rounds and at last pay fees.

Faculty :

Faculty members are good leaving some of them. Rules are very strict for labs and workshops and even in some of the lectures. There is 0% attendance policy but suprise test happens.Quiz , midsem and endsem are the majorly three types in which the exam is being conducted. Paper level is genrally tough and so the checking.

Interview Experience :

There was just a small personal interview with some of the faculty members in which they ask about my city, my branch ,name and how am i finding the campus (beautiful or not). Other than that there was orientation which was taken in the main auditorium by the director of bits pilani.

Other Applied Colleges

Branch was not good

ISM Dhanbad - Indian Institute of Technology - [IITISM] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Environmental Engineering)
