Remarks :
Good college with the great atmosphere for knowledge gain, easy location, they take efforts in training you to be job ready and constantly pushing one towards excellence.
Entrance Preview :
Tamil Nadu Entrance exam + higher secondary marks scored a cutoff of 264 /300. College was in Chennai and well connected.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Its not very flexible, but good compared to other colleges. Research is encouraged at masters level. Bachelors are also encouraged to Submit technical papers and do basic research.
Internships Opportunities :
College does not provide internship for Bachelors. Master might have and the its mostly the effort of students, they can get internship elsewhere college will attest it. Some companies like Infosys , Satyam offered internship after placements in 4th Year.
Placement Experience :
Placements are nearly 100% with all top IT companies coming for placemnts. It would be over by the time even 10 companies fully visit. Te packages are according to Industry norms. Infosy, Wipro, HCL, Satyam, HP, Siemens etc. May have to attend joint campus recruitment sometimes. But they ensure companies provide best placements for the graduates.
College Events :
Symposiums, technical papers, cultural events are all celebrated with important quests being present. Mostly cinema related activity is not encouraged. Being a Islamic institution, related actives with religious influence is encouraged. An early event for soap box car racing is a major attraction for other colleges.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Its feasible for most if marks are adequate. But if marks are not adequate can charge exorbitantly, depending upon recommendation, religious background, community preference etc.Was selected under govt. quota so only paid around 18.00 pa and separately for bus and exam fees.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Loans are available through all major banks, though not of personnel experience have heard friends obtained it with ease. College does provide some sort of trust scholarship for Tamil Muslim students who are underprivileged. Scholarships provided by govt is provided to students who are eligible.
Campus Life :
Gender ratio is skewed in favor of boys except in Computer science and IT branches, Mechanical department has almost no girls. Campus life is active and lively as much as academic schedules would allow. Students o all faith study but Muslims are still majority, allows extra break-time for namaz on Fridays. Economic status of students is varied.
Hostel Facilities :
Separate hostel for girls and boys, good facilites, dorms for first year, later shared rooms with bath, TV, gaming place. Food is excellent, Menu is decided by students and alters every month. Non veg is also served. Canteens and tea shops are vailable offering good food at reasonable price.
Alumni/Alumna :
Alumni network is maintained and events conducted every year and also in various countries too. They also help in providing valuable inputs college infrastructure and campus recruiting.
Exam Structure :
Exams are both planned and ad-hoc. Monthly cycle tests, lab exams are common. Semester exams occur as per University rules and norms. Most days are hectic. Chilling is not possible if one wants good grades/average. Viva voce is done daily in labs and one has to answer the staff satisfactorily to even enter the lab, had to complete syllabus by working on weekends too.
Faculty :
Faculty includes Ph.Ds, Masters, most staff are well aware of the subjects, teaching is good and dedicated staff exist. But some are not very expressive and understanding complex subjects are not easy with class teaching alone. Lab staff are good at practical assistance.
